Kohler Stages sink... will it fit in 33' base cabinet?
Comments (3)To see if a Ticor undermount stainless sink would fit, I just called the sink manufacturer and he said to add about 2 1/2" to the sink width to allow for mounting clips while the sink is being set into the granite. So a 15" sink requires 17 1/2" of clearance inside the cabinet - or an 18" cabinet. We are ordering a 30" sink for our 33" base cabinet. I would think a 33" sink would require a 36" base. Good luck - I can sympathise from your tko stress - so many details to work through!...See More32 inch sink /36 inch cabinet w/bumpout?
Comments (3)Normally, a 33" sink (32" inside dimension) will need a 36" cabinet to be properly mounted. Bumpouts look best if they aren't just the cabinet by itself. It needs to have decorative fillers or columns to each side. That means that you'd need 42" for a bumpout for your sink. Some cabinet companies offer 36" deep sink bases with angled decorative sides, but some sinks will not fit into them because of the angle without scooping some of the front. Often if you want to increase the space behind your sink, bumping out the whole run is more useful. It gives you additional space for those small appliances as well as for mounting your faucet....See MoreCan I use a 33inch sink base for a 30inch SS Apron Front Sink
Comments (5)Did you order an apron front sink base or just a regular sink base? A regular sink base's doors are too tall for an apron front sink and when one retrofits an apron front sink into an existing situation, they usually eliminate the doors and put in a curtain under the sink. If you want a farm sink, and haven't ordered a farm sink base, then stop the order, pay any restocking fee, and get a farm sink base. In the end, it will be cheaper and look better than attempting to hack into a brand new sink base....See MoreDoes a 26 inch sink fit in a 27 inch base cabinet
Comments (18)Sophie, who is a kitchen designer, and practigal both explained why you would not want to put a 26" sink in a 27" cabinet. I have seen that advice many times on GW in my four years here, but practigal's is the most thorough explanation I've seen. I hurriedly went and measured my sink just to be sure I didn't do such a thing and am breathing a sigh of relief that I have a 23" sink in my 27" cabinet. You'll have to decide for yourself if it's worth the risk to your cabinets and counters. I wouldn't take the advice of Navy Momma's GC, who you've never met. But then, I wouldn't take the advice of your KD either after seeing some of her layout ideas!...See Morepeytonroad
