I have a huge platter of giant size lobster claws and legs that I bought at Costco. I am heating those up and some clarified butter. Boiling some baby red potatoes to go with it. I am excited about this dinner.

Tomorrow we are going to my neighbors house for Christmas Dinner.

Oooh, move over everybody! Dinner sounds great.

The rainy, dreary weather has finally cleared up so the coals are lit for some salmon. I've made a broccoli slaw, and will fry some latkes while Robert cooks the salmon.

We're having a few prosciutto wrapped melon and bubbly for happy hour.

Tonight is the first time in many, many years that we didn't have our fish chowder for dinner. DH said he wanted to go out for lunch today so we did. We both had an oyster and clam plate than I ran some errands. Dinner is what you want it to be tonight. For me it was a cup of tea and some cheese and crackers. It's a very different Christmas this year. It's also the first time nobody is coming for Christmas. I hate to admit it, but I kind of like it. No pressures. We're going to a friends tomorrow. When you live so far from family, friends become family so it will be very nice. Different, but nice.

Linda I've never had oyster stew. Do you steam them in the shells?

I made a cherry cheesecake an hour ago and some chocolate macaroons; no bake ones with coconut and oatmeal.

We had our family Christmas last weekend, so it's very quiet here tonight. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and a cup of hot chocolate for my supper! It's very relaxing. Tomorrow local DD and I well go to home of DD#2, about an hour away, for a nice lunch.

Shrimp and Grits with crusty bread.

Tonight we had our son, his wife and our two grandsons, my sister and my father in law who is currently living with us. Three of us had a lovely seafood dish of crab and shrimp while the others had baked ham. It was all very good. Then we exchanged presents. Tomorrow just hubby, sister and I will feast on prime rib and scallops. It will be a quiet day, but we are happy with that. I am grateful my husband is so good to my sister who has to depend on us for so much.

I made a turkey & spinach casserole. Then for dessert, choc chip coconut bars.

Oh what I would give for a couple of those claws. Everyone's dinner sounded good to me even the grits. I had purchased a ham steak for Christmas morning breakfast since my sister is here but we had it for dinner instead with mixed vegetables and a mincemeat tart for dessert. We will have Pillsbury Grand cinnamon rolls for breakfast instead.

Sirley, it's very simple. We always had it Christmas eve so I could spend Christmas Eve day preparing Christmas breakfast and dinner. Come Christmas day, we just had a long drawn out day of opening presents. First the stocking stuffers, then a break for breakfast which was a strata and fresh fruit salad. Then we would open Santa's presents and our presents for the kids. Then we would take another break. After dinner, we went into the living room and lit lots of candles, sat and relaxed and then we would open all the gifts the kids bought for everyone. So, a nice relaxing Christmas chowder and some biscuits and cookies was most welcomed Christmas Eve.

At first, I would make a potato soup base several weeks ahead of time and freeze it but after awhile I began to cheat. I take a package of Bear Creek potato soup and a package of Knorr's Leek soup mix and mix them both together according to directions on the package. I sauté some celery and onions and throw them in along with some dry sherry to taste. Then I add whatever I feel like. Those lobster claws Raven was showing would be great along with some scallops, some crab meat and some shrimp. It's really quite goodâ¦..the more sherry the better. LOL When it's not Christmas, I will sometimes take the Bear Creek potato soup, sauté some onions and celery and throw in some butter and clams for a New England type clam chowder. Easy and good.

I had some of Joe's family in, those that were able to make it. I cooked a ham, salad, honey glazed carrots and roasted baby potatoes. Homemade carrot cake for dessert.

Roast beef, (my choice, prepared by my DGD,) roasted veggies, green beans, mac and cheese, slaw, fruit salad, hot rolls. Rum cake and cookies, hot punch, tea.

We have a lot of fun; playing games and we do the Dirty Santa exchange. "We" are me, my DD, my DGS and his DW, my DGD, her DH and my 13 year old DGGS. They each have their other families to share Christmas with, so it has become tradition to have Christmas Eve at my house. Today is my day to "rest up."

Weather today is sunny, temperature is 50ð; thankfully we didn't get the cold rainy forecast.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with my significant other's three children, his three grandchildren and my two kids. It was our first time meeting and we had a wonderful time. The hostess served catered Italian food which was fabulous. Today I am serving beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, green beans and salad to my SO, my two kids and his son who was going to be alone today. All is well.

Christmas Dinner:
Just finished a dinner of turkey breast, beef loin roast, garlic mashed taters, roasted green beans, sauted spinach and baked sweet taters.

Desserts are blueberry swirl crustless cheesecake, eggnog pound cake and browned butter brownies.

Many delicious sounding meals! We ate at Taco Bell. We'd had a long, fun day at the museum, so we went easy & cheap for dinner. Today, I made an easy dinner, but it was not fast food! :)
