Yes Drama Girl is a very strong grower, once established. It grows several inches a year, and it gets very big very quickly. Sawada's Mahogany is one I don't have, but the ones I have seen are more compact and average height. You may call Bobby Green who found it on the old Sawada homesite and named it. I am sure yours came from him. It is strikingly different. You may see some good examples of these at the Bham Camellia show on Feb. 12-13 at BBG.

I have not seen or used this system, but would not trust a suction cup to hold anything up. Maybe a few little decorative spoons, but nothing more.

I have one. When I first saw it on the infomercial I resisted buying it. Until one of my clients told me how she couldn't live without her Magic Bullet I bought one when it came on sale. Wish I could say I love mine but instead I was disappointed after hearing about all the hypes. To be fair, I am probably spoiled by the powerful blender I have. The big guy takes no more than 10 seconds to puree any fruit. I use it to make quick and dirty smoothie every morning. I tried the Magic Bullet but it didn't do as good a job. I tried blending on and off every 15 second but the banana still remained small chunks after almost a minute. So I tried using it to make peanut butter; didn't work neither. The nuts got stuck! Chopped the nuts, turned the Bullet over and banged it on the counter to loosen up the chunk of peanuts, chopped some more, banged it again. Took forever and I ended up adding olive oil to get the job done; still couldn't get it to the smooth consistency that I was after, just chunky. By the way, you need to buy an extra flat blade to make peanut butter. The blade that comes with the unit won't work. I only use the Bullet to mix straight liquid and powder these days. Sometimes I even use it to blend overly ripped bananas that had been frozen then thawed. That was the only way I could get smooth banana puree from the Bullet. For those who really love your Bullet, good for you. But as for me, it's a piece of equipment I could live without.

Since it's been all about "Something's Gotta Give" I thought that Nancy Meyers' follow up movie "The Holiday" needed a closer look. Just as the star of Something's Gotta Give was the Hamptons house itself, the star of the "The Holiday" wasn't really Cameron Diaz or Kate Winslet, but their two homes, one in Los Angeles and one in the English Countryside, respectively. And in another connection between the two movies, the production team was led Jon Hutman - but Beth Rubino, so wonderful on the set of SGG, was absent for The Holiday. And just as with Something's Gotta Give, Nancy Meyers' personal interior designer has photos of "The Holiday" houses on his web site, but he is not mentioned in the film credits. The Holiday, coming so soon after Something's Gotta Give received a lot of prepublicity hype concerning its premise: two women swap houses for the Christmas vacation and both find love. For lovers of the SGG house, a new Nancy Meyers movie about TWO houses was almost too good to be true ! Jim
