Who has a 'Magic Bullet' Do You Like it ?

I just love my Magic Bullet !!! I have made so many things with it. Do you own one, and what do you make with it? I use it for Salad dressings, Meat Rubs, Chopping nuts, Pesto sauce, and so many other things. One of the best things I have ever purchased. What do you make with yours? Do you like it as much as I do? Diana55 P.S....I see they have one now, with a stronger motor. Does anyone have one, and is it good?

Love my bullet! I don't use it all the time, but love it for the same type of things diana posted.
I haven't done nuts.

Instant pudding is great. Small amounts of onions, hot peppers, bread crumbs, etc.

I'd rather wash just the blade and cup than 4 pieces of the FP for small things.

I'll admit, I don't bake my eggshells...but I buy local eggs, and wash very thoroughly (if they had salmonella, my dogs would get it from the eggs, which I also feed raw). But I would imagine birds would be much more sensitive to anything on them than my dogs might be, so baking is a good idea. I had read that the baking was just to remove mineral oils put on the shell to help preserve the eggs and dry the shells out well, not to guard against salmonella. I just wash them out well with hot water, then store in the fridge until they're really dry. Then I grind them way down into a powder for the dogs...since I mix it with their raw food (one of my dogs can't have whole raw bones, so it replaces the calcium). It takes no time at all in the magic bullet to grind them to powder, if that's what you decide to do. I actually bought the food processor specifically to make dog food with (pulverizing veggies/chopping meat). I can't imagine using the MB for that...it would take me hours with those small quantities! :-)

After reading the various threads and looking at the pics, I'm sold for the basement but we're also considering it throughout the first floor. I'm concerned about resale (though it's would be decades away). The homes in our neighborhood are selling for $700,000+, and the expectation of course is high end everything. I'm considering putting this in the main living area too due to the ease of care and who knows what I'll like in 10 years? Our last home we had extensive use of hardwood. I loved the look but the constant worry, and no shoe policy was unpleasant. I want a house that we can live in. For as cheap as this stuff is, we couldn't even have the floors refinished, for what this stuff costs new. We currently have hardwood in the front foyer, front bath, dinette, kitchen, and laundry room (I wouldn't say the previous owner made a wise move on that decision). With all the remodeling though, much of the wood will be trashed anyway, so it's like we'd be starting from scratch. Are we crazy to even consider vinyl (even for a decade) when we can afford the real thing (installation and all), when the expectation is high end? It's only my husband, myself, and a little dog on a daily basis.

I have and use a stick blender. I make smoothies with just yogurt, frozen whole strawberries and banana with a splash of milk all the time. What I like about the hand held is that I can use any size narrowish container and make any amount I want to make at a time. I'll often use the end of a quart of yogurt right in the quart yogurt container. It does a great job of grinding up the frozen strawberries [they're the biggest and hardest fruit]. Then you just clean it by whizzing it in a container of water in the sink and it's really cleaned. I do take the blade off afterward just to make sure all is clean but it's much easier to clean that than a blender or the bullet. Plus you can use it right in your pots to smooth out gravy or to chop meat or small amounts of veggies. Also they're quite cheap compared to the bullet.

You have all been so helpful. I really hope that someday I can post finished pictures of my home. The few photos I've seen of some of your homes look so well though out and put together. Olychick, those pictures really helped me see not only that a taller chair will work, but also helped me see how radically different colors and patterns can coexist. If only I had the vision and confidence to buy such eclectic pieces... Here is the link for the RH rug, I like the cream version. I think it's simplicity is what calls out to me.I'm usually drawn to airy rooms. At the same time I like print-heavy rugs and saturated colors such as the photo in the second link. (sorry for not posting in the thread, I can't figure out how to save photos from houzz on my new mac). I can post a few pictures of my kitchen/living room area if need be, but right now I just have a slate fireplace and that brown chesterfield (credit goes to my H for that one.. his one furniture demand). Floors are a dark wood look tile. White ikea cabinets. Custom aluminum hood. I have one. When I first saw it on the infomercial I resisted buying it. Until one of my clients told me how she couldn't live without her Magic Bullet I bought one when it came on sale.

Wish I could say I love mine but instead I was disappointed after hearing about all the hypes.

To be fair, I am probably spoiled by the powerful blender I have. The big guy takes no more than 10 seconds to puree any fruit. I use it to make quick and dirty smoothie every morning. I tried the Magic Bullet but it didn't do as good a job. I tried blending on and off every 15 second but the banana still remained small chunks after almost a minute.

So I tried using it to make peanut butter; didn't work neither. The nuts got stuck! Chopped the nuts, turned the Bullet over and banged it on the counter to loosen up the chunk of peanuts, chopped some more, banged it again. Took forever and I ended up adding olive oil to get the job done; still couldn't get it to the smooth consistency that I was after, just chunky. By the way, you need to buy an extra flat blade to make peanut butter. The blade that comes with the unit won't work.

I only use the Bullet to mix straight liquid and powder these days. Sometimes I even use it to blend overly ripped bananas that had been frozen then thawed. That was the only way I could get smooth banana puree from the Bullet.

For those who really love your Bullet, good for you. But as for me, it's a piece of equipment I could live without.
