Prayers Needed For A Dear KT Member

Our dear KT friend and member Veta, needs prayers and for her family. She lost her middle son early Saturday morning. It was very unexpected. Cause not known at this time. I know she and all her family will feel comforted by your hugs and prayers. At this time Veta is unable to post at the Kitchen Table, but will be able to read your posts. I understand "only 17". Cats often live far longer than that. I lost one a couple of years ago at 20. Two of the ones I have now are 17 and going relatively strongly. 17 is no longer ancient. I also understand your grief and fear. Please consider taking Dusty to the vet; there are potentially many things that could be wrong and treatable. In the meantime, pick up some human baby food (Gerber, Beech-Nut) - chicken, beef, or turkey (no onions, no garlic). That often will get them to eat something and get their appetite going again. You are all so very kind! I am in Vegas and don't know that anyone would come up this far, but they would be welcome. My sister and her family are in Sugar Land, which is a Houston suburb. They are hoping for the best and riding it out. The traffic is so bad...gas is low. They really don't feel they have much choice. Let's keep all in the path of this hurricane in our thoughts and prayers.

Oh Veta....I am so very sorry (and shocked) to hear this sad news. I too have lost a son (on Christmas day 1996) and I truly feel your pain. Please know that we are all here sending hugs and comforting thoughts your way.

What a hugely hurtful thing it is to lose a precious child.

I pray that you and your loved ones may share good memories of your son during these days which will help to carry you through.

Sometimes I think that the boundaries between this life and the next are not as strong as we think ... sometimes it seems to me that we taste of the firstfruits of heaven while we journey through this life.

I trust that he is finding a glorious new vista of life opening out before him, so that he can rejoice in not only his present but his future.

May you who are left behind find comfort and peace during these coming difficult days.
