going digital (as in, a digital frame)

I'm thinking about getting a digital frame.

I have tabletop and wall frame overload -- family (some who've passed), nephews/nieces, pets. I love seeing all their faces, but I think I really need to scale down. (When I put some of the extra, unused frames in a tag sale this spring, I'm sure at least a few people will think I have a hoarding issue!)

How do you load photos in a digital frame, and what kind of memory card is used? I have photos on my laptop, some still hanging out on my Canon camera's memory cards, some in "hardcopy" form (prints). My printer has a slot for my camera's memory card, so I can scan a print and copy it to the card. (So I've been able to copy old family prints, upload them to my laptop and copy them over to a portable hard drive for safekeeping.)

What are some things I should know about? Have you been happy with yours? Are there features you wish yours has?
