Jackson at 2 days old. (the teddy's were mom & dad's when they were little)

Here he is tonight....8 weeks old! Exciting and a little sad at the same time. Kalie has another month off of work...I honestly wish she could stay home, but at this point, that isn't going to happen! :/

We had Jackson overnight on Friday....so mom & dad could celebrate their anniversary (yes...one busy year for them!). Here Jackson and papa are having a heart to heart talk! I LOVE this pic! Just had to share! LOL

Hi Harold Nice to see your before and after pictures. You are definitely a motivation for all of us. I see how much your mid section has changed.You look much younger and healthier now. Thanks for posting your pictures. My weight yesterday was 133.6. Thats a 0.4 pound less than last week. I am kinda stuck in the lower 130s from past few weeks. Time to do something different to break this plateau. Silver,Thought I am ~134, I dont feel good about my weight. I feel I am still looking fat which I am in a way. My thighs are the areas which needs lot of toning. If I could get to lower 120s I may actually feel comfortable with my weight. I am happy that you are comfortable with your weight rt now. I think you did more work outs than me and hence more toned though we both are almost at the same weights. Ivamae, there are so many snacks in the isle which are fat free or low card and are just 100 calories. But I think all these processed , ready made snacks are not part of healthy life style. The closer we are to the unprocessed foods, the more healthier we are. I also noticed I could keep my weight off when I was snacking on strawberries, blue berries and oranges. Betty and Helen , congrats on your weights.

My neighbor has a golden puppy named Daisy. Daisy is a counter surfer, who at last count, had eaten an expensive pair of sunglasses, and just about every kind of food that Lisa has served for dinner! Lisa is about at her wits end cause the last time I talked to her, Daisy had gotten a BOWL of refried beans out of the SINK. Not just the beans but the bowl too! And of course the bowl broke and shattered when it hit the tile and since the beans were stuck to the bowl, she ate some of the glass and the beans! Lisa took her to the vet and the vet said just to watch her. Evidently she made out okay but Lisa was considering finding a new home for Daisy. She just can't keep her off the counters. She has tried everything suggested by the obedience trainer from spraying her in the face with water, to rattling noises, to hitting her paws with newspaper. Any more ideas? Quincy is so cute. I wondered how long could you trust him with that afaghan? My male minilab, Amos, ate a hole in mine. It was a wedding gift from DH's grandmother 37 years ago! I didn't have the heart to tell my DH until I had it fixed. Cost me $20.00 to have it done as best as it could be. Of course, it was my fault since I had left it on the floor according to DH!

So, I've been working on this potting bench. It seems I cannot do anything small. Cook. Build. Acquire. Go figure. I'll post pictures when I'm further along. So far, it's 6'2" tall x 7'3" wide and will fit at the end of my porch where it'll also act as a bannister for the 4' drop. I also realized that my 24' raised bed, my little garden bench, and this potting bench are all made of materials I already have. I've spent $6.00 for a bale of hay for the raised bed lasagna garden, but the lumber & screws? All mine. If I paint this stuff, I even have that. Yeah for me! Ye Great Hoarder-ess of Building Materials! It's SO windy today, though, I had to stop. It's a beautiful day, but the wind is blowing me sideways. That led me to my next idea. (I need to build some more raised beds to keep these guys from driving across the entire lawn, but I'm jumping around.) I'm trying to figure out how to make a moon gate between two gardens. I'd need it to have at least a 36" open base to walk through, and like it to be at least 8' tall. At the base, I could actually bury the bottom of something in a circle if leaving it open turned out not to be an option. Now, building it myself precludes stone and brick. Wood would be iffy for me. I have no idea how to work metal. I have it in my head that I could use to lengths of some kind of flexible conduit running side by side, but have no idea if such a thing exists. I'd have to bridge the two circles, but that's not as difficult as finding the right material. Here's my inspiration: Any ideas for me? Also, a2gemini, go to a nursery that does hardscapes, too. As to see their junk pile. Pieces of stuff left over from jobs they (are to lazy to) put away in usually a pile. Some places sell them at regular price, but some places just want the junk out of the way. That's where I jump in! Christina22, love the rug. I like the thought that angels are kissing him making him smile. All of his great grandparents are in heaven, and I KNOW my dad is watching him closely!!! =) Yes, I am now home....didn't want to leave, but reality calls. :/ It was an amazing and BUSY 10 days that I was down helping. Kalie & Mike are doing a amazing job with Jackson. Kalie is nursing and I would say doing just about the best she can for Jackson!!! He was born at 6#15oz, 19.5" long....we stopped and had him weighed on day 10, he was 7#6oz and 21" long!!! (his weight had dropped to 6.8#) He is a good baby and is very used to noise...has to be in a house with 3 cats and 2 dogs!!! I was vacuuming right under his pack n play...while he was sleeping, and he never moved!!! Kalie is doing great too....she got into her pre-pregnancy jeans on day 10!!!!!! (she had gained 43#) Nursing is a GOOD thing! lol Thanks for all the compliments..and yes, you will probably be seeing more of him! Kalie is a camera nut and today alone has prob sent me a dozen pics! (LOVE IT!) LOL And for those wondering, he will also be called Jack.

Isn't it amazing when you think of the leaps and bounds they make the first year of life??! I often think of the grandbabies here and how they went from helpless newborn to sweet little peeps with so much character!!
