T-day Invite to Glenda al

Glenda,

I am usually a lurker on the KT unless I have a crisis and I then post to get wonderful advice. My name is Vickie- I use sipsy on here because it was the name of my little 13 yr old schnauzer that had to be put down in Aug. I just read that you will not be having anyone for T'giving this year. I just hate the thought of you being alone. I'd love to have you join my family for T-giving this year. I live in Madison, AL (outside of Huntsville) and on T-giving AM will be coming through B'ham on 280 heading to Auburn for dinner with my family. I will come back home that evening. I grew up in Alexander City and have lived in North AL for the last 24 years. We are a fun loving family and would love to have our table set for one more. Please e-mail me at vbparker@bellsouth.net

I've been having this problem for about two weeks, too. It's not just an AL "thing", especially not with Glenda's posts, per se, but on other forums, too. I haven't found a way to correct it, other than to go back to the previous page and try another post. Sometimes that works, but sometimes it doesn't! It can get very frustrating! What's REALLY driving me crazy is that when I try to connect to another page, I sometimes get the message that "Internet Explorer cannot display this page."; then the Internet connection is lost. I'm starting to think that this may be caused by my Internet provider rather than something on my computer--or something that I'm doing to cause it. Any suggestions or solutions out there? (I haven't gone to the computer forum, yet, that's next, I think.)

Agreeing with suzieque -- My mother used to say you should wait until the water boils, then pick the corn and RUN to put it into the boiling water. Cook for 60 seconds. READY for butter and salt! I was also told to never refrigerate the corn before cooking it -- something about the sugar turning to starch? *Everything* is good here after a temperate summer with alternate days of rain. I've only watered my flowerpots by hand a few times. Now we are 'in for it' with high temps and high humidity starting tomorrow afternoon. They predict heat indexes of 105F for three days.

I am so jealous!!! I wish I lived close enough to Glenda to have her w/ us!! We're all basically crazy and I bet she'd fit right in. Jealous, jealous, jealous!! Yep!! that's me.

Sadly, I had to decline, as, while, I was at water aerobics, this morning, my friend, Carole, invited me to join she and her family at her table, Thursday.

Vickie, I am sincere in my offer to meet you at The Galleria, The Summit, or somewhere on the 280 corridor, sometime you are in B'ham or passing on way to Auburn. Would love to meet you.

My Thanksgiving wishes to the caring KT'er and lurkers, you know who you are. You are the ones that makes this a better world.

And Vickie, I so thank you for your kindness and caring thoughts.

Put some of that cruise money you're hoarding away and take a trip up here sometime..I can cook turkey too ya know...LOL

Rhonda, it was Carnival that had my money and would give it gave, so a Christmas cruise! :o)

Glenda, I didn't know you were going to be alone Thanksgiving. You know you would have been more than welcome here. Of course you would have had to let Luther get over his 5 minutes of elation of having company first though before he settled down. sigh
