Good Wednesday Morning!

Morning everyone. I am getting ready to go grocery shopping with Amber and Cheryl and Alyssa. Cheryl and I canned salsa yesterday and we ended up with 23 pints and 14 quarts. We still hope to get some more canned. The new green beans are coming on so hopefully we can get more of those canned too. The weather is warming up here this morning. It is already in the 70's and humid. What are the rest of you doing today? Enjoy your day.

I've already done the main item on my agenda today. Took the car in for maintenance. Stopped at McDonald's for a breakfast sandwich (BOGO free). I'll have one for lunch, save the other. Not quite sure what I'll get into now. It's really getting muggy here now.

I think I'm still in shock that it's September already.

I hope you find some good bargains in the grocery stores today.

Your salsa sounds great! I "sun-dried" my tomato crop last week in the oven. Didn't make a lot but sure tastes good.It's rainy today in Long Island NY, the remnants of Hurricane Isaac.

Yes you have plenty to do. Glad everyone is okay. Going to plant 6 tomato plants this afternoon. I'm in Long Island NY. It's only 55 and cloudy, supposed to be nicer this afternoon. First taking hubby grocery shopping, then to Walmart to maybe buy a new VCR. Our old one croaked. See ya later!

Sounds like much of the same here in the lower 48. Even here is ND where the oil boom is bringing in so much money BUT everything is way too high for the average person. Just ask some of the Canadians that come south to shop and try to find a place to stay.

Good morning Sue! Stayed up late last night so I slept in this morning. Did nothing all day yesterday except dishes. Alex left for a week long camping trip with friends yesterday and Lauren is at her father's. So, I have the house to myself...with the dogs. Today I'm going to write some e-mails, a letter or two, do laundry and work out in the yard later after the sun starts going down. I need to clean the house too, just not sure I'm going to get to that today or just leave it for tomorrow.

Maryl - I thought f. Val Sweetheart would improve in bud count and height where I planted it last fall, but it hasn't at this time. What was a full sun spot when I planted the divisions is not now (5.5 hours of sun). The ones planted in the slightly sunnier spot only had 13-14 buds, pretty much the same as those fans still in the part-shade seedling bed, which get 5 hours of sun. The highest bud count I've ever had on that seedling is 16 buds. Plants in both areas do have instant rebloom this year, and the rebloom scapes look they're going to have about 12 buds. Anyway this years stats didn't give me the registration flag. In the fall, I'll once again move some divisions to a sunnier spot and hope for better things next year. This time I'm moving it to a place no trees can shade it. Hoosier Nan - The Ruby Lipstick seedling ended up having 15 buds, which is pretty good for a first-year bloomer. It was super nice and cool, with only 75 this morning. The ride to work was very enjoyable.

After work, it was a different story. Hot 96, humid, the ride is uphill, granted not much, but in the heat it always feels worse.
It topped out at 103 today here, in OKC.

This afternoon, some puter work, some knitting, and some work out on the nordic track. Once again, I am hiding out indoors, trying to stay cool.

Now I am peachy clean, and will watch
til death,

while I knit, and then off to bed. Really exciting day, LOL

Wednesday I had a doctor appointment, went to Menards and picked up some things and had a disappointing lunch. It's a nice cool morning here now. 52ÃÂ° right now and on its way back to the 80s later on. Today will be a short day at work. Probably pick up some things at Aldi afterward and maybe hit Target.

We have been gearing up for the State inspection of our kitchen so that DD can begin to start her baking business. Inspector will be here just before lunch time. Kitchen looks pretty bare with nothing at all on the walls (not that there was much) and corners of the dining room and family room designated for tiny fridge and plastic containers to hold all the required materials that can not be co-mingled with household equipment. Crossing fingers.
