Beautiful! We really miss your posts, but know you have to be with your mom. I really like Tahlequah Flame. Shelby looks really good. Blazing Cannons is such a n intense red, it makes me feel good. Innocent Discovery is awfully pretty too. I like both seedlings, and the second one looks more red on my screen.

You know I was waiting for the Former Valentine Sweetheart. It still looks so good to me. I know your time is taken up otherwise now, but are you still going to register it? Just for the irony of the thing a short story: I have a friend who was married on Valentines day and then years later, divorced. I told her about the name of your daylily and she thought it was perfect for her-lol.......Outside of that my favorites of this batch are Tahlequah Flame (another Hensley), Abeline Lillian, Innocent Discovery (is this new for you?), and last but not least Shelby. You take such a good picture of it. It's just so lovely and feminine....The Former Valentine Sweetheart looks to be a red/pink on this shot, maybe you could even call it a hot pink. Nice group. Shelby and White Eyes Pink Dragon caught my eye. However, I don't seem to see "pink" with WEPD. It looks rose color on my screen. The seedling looks more red/rose than pink on my screen.

Valentine Sweetheart looks quite reddish on my screen, but Best for Last is much more saturated in your pic than I've had here (will see what it's like this year). Shelby looks very good. I hope things are well with your mother.

Thanks for making the time to post at such a hectic point in your life. Sure hope that your mother is on the road to recovery. As for the photos, each is more luscious, but I'll always favor the flower formerly known as Valentine Sweetheart, which on my screen is red, although it's a pink red. Safe travels.

Wow....some very pretty ones once again! It is always a challenge to pick favorites of your selections but I think I will choose Shelby, White Eyes Pink Dragon and Best for Last. Your seedling looks hot rose pink/fuschia to me. Whatever color, it's always been a beauty.

All of your pictures are superb, but my picks today are your two seedlings. Ruby Lipstick X Purify My Heart is a color combination that is dear to my heart. Your former Valentine Sweetheart looks rose red (a color I love) on my screen. I prefer my red to the rose side, not the orange side like Bob does. Abilene Lillian and Sanford Intermezzo sure are beautiful too. I love the way the petals and sepals curl on Shelby.

F Valentine Sweetheart look Rose red here! Love the seedlings, just as nice as last season. Shelby is always a favorite along with Pink Eyes White Dragon. I love Snow Dance, so lovely!

Maryl - I thought f. Val Sweetheart would improve in bud count and height where I planted it last fall, but it hasn't at this time. What was a full sun spot when I planted the divisions is not now (5.5 hours of sun). The ones planted in the slightly sunnier spot only had 13-14 buds, pretty much the same as those fans still in the part-shade seedling bed, which get 5 hours of sun. The highest bud count I've ever had on that seedling is 16 buds. Plants in both areas do have instant rebloom this year, and the rebloom scapes look they're going to have about 12 buds. Anyway this years stats didn't give me the registration flag. In the fall, I'll once again move some divisions to a sunnier spot and hope for better things next year. This time I'm moving it to a place no trees can shade it.

Hoosier Nan - The Ruby Lipstick seedling ended up having 15 buds, which is pretty good for a first-year bloomer. The single fan has divided into three, so I'm excited about that.

Julia - The watermark on White Eyes Pink Dragon is pink, but the petal color is more of a rose lavender here.

Mantis - Best for Last is darker in color this season than I've seen it before. That's probably due to the cool nights recently. It was 57 overnight before this bloom picture.

Debra, we have had six days of cool nights, even lower than 57. You can imagine what that has done to the daylilies. On many days, virtually nothing opening perfectly. So it goes. There's always a potential wrench to damage an otherwise good season.

Mantis - This is the coolest June I can remember in Nashville since I started gardening. Usually by the time Best for Last blooms, daytime temps are in the mid to high 90s and night temps are in the high 70s-80s.

Lovely group of blooms. My favorites include Abilene Lillian, White Eyes Pink Dragon, and your two seedlings. The former Valentine Sweetheart looks more pink on my screen.
