Yep. I buy Dove, the green bar. Smells great, works great, we both like it. Cucumber and green tea is the scent, I think. Refreshing and creamy.

Still using Irish Spring. The Aloe formula. Just don't feel clean with a liquid cleanser. Also like that it's a made in the USA product.

I have started using the original Dial soap bar. I was having skin problems because of the chemo. One caused me to have surgery last March. The nurse told me to use Dial. It is very drying, but I've had no more skin problems since I started using it.

Not me, all I use is bodywash. DH cannot be convinced to give up bar soap in the shower! He uses soft soap for hand washing and his hands get a heck of a lot dirtier than his body IMO! LOL My shower would be so much easier to clean if he'd use a bodywash.

nodak ... I had a hard time with my DH too, but I finally found one he really likes, its a honeysuckel/orange peel scent. I really like the soft soap hand wash, too. Its all we have used for a long time now.

Maryanne that is interesting. I recently developed a bad case of hand eczema. I used Dial liquid for years and changed over to Soft Soap (brand) because it is cheaper. I'm using a bar soap on my hands now and it helps a little. Maybe I should try Dial liquid again. Never had problems with it. If that' doesn't work I'll stick with the bar for my hands although I prefer liquid.

I use things made with tea tree oil in my shower...

My latest favorite bar soap is Dr. Brommers.

I use an organic liquid soap in the kitchen Vanilla chai and the bathroom is Trader Joes liquid soap. Lavender Chamomile (smells like baby soap)...

I use NO antibacterial (chemical based) soaps.

I use bar soap, lemon scented. For awhile, I used Lever body wash but went back to the bar. I've heard that liquid soap doesn't leave soap scum as badly as bar soap though.

Sandlewood Bee Flower soap. I buy it by the case. Each bar comes individually wrapped. Makes the DH smell....soooooooooo gooooooooooood!!! :0)

I don't use soap in a bar...The bartenders have some sort of silly rule against it...

My husband has used Coast Deoderant soap since it first came out lots and lots of years ago. I use both Coast and Tone. They are both found in our showers. Those two soaps are just about the only brand loyal products I still hold to.

We just use good old Dial bar soap. I like the clean smell.

I don't use bar soaps anymore. I like the Olay body washes for the shower. I have eczema on my hands and can't use soap. I use Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser as my hand soap.

This is really spooky! I thought about starting this exact post today but got swamped with work at the office.

I was given a bar of L'Occitane Verbanna shea butter soap as a gift last year and have used nothing else since. Love it! It lasts a long time too.

I just bought some today. Dial has a new glycerin type that smells really nice. Its a antioxidant, grape seed oil & lemon grass and then the cranberry one.

We still use bar soap in the shower. DH prefers it. Mostly I use Ivory, Irish Spring or Lever 2000. I was gifted with some Oil of Olay body wash that I do like though. I might buy that again. I keep the liquid soaps at the sinks.

I have allergies and have to be very careful about the products I choose. Dial Bar soap--the yellow bar--gives me no problem. It's all I've used for probably 40 years, if not more.

Bar soap tip. Buy at least a couple of months ahead, unwrap all the soap when you get home from the store, and let the bars dry for at leat 2 months before you use them. They will be much 'harder' and won't dissolve as fast--thus you'll get more washes out of each bar. then, when the old bar gets too small, wet it, and piggyback it to the new bar.

I prefer bar soap. But I think one of the first tips I learned years ago on GardenWeb was that liquid soap doesn't leave as much soapscum in the shower so I switched immediately. And its true! The difference is dramatic. I like several of the Olay products best: they rinse off "clean" without a greasy feel.

I find them at a Tuesday Mornings store, but you never know when they will have them in stock. When I googled to find a pic of each, I realized I could have been buying them online all this time. Duh. And for the same price.

We switched to liquid for the same reason marita40 did. No soap scum. I love the orange (original) Dial and the blue one, too, but it is drying. I keep both kinds in the guest bath.

Haven't bought bar soap in decades. And for handwashing I've converted to foams. So much easier to spread on the hands, wrists and arms and it doesn't drip off. Using foam and liquid doesn't slop the vanity anywhere near as much either for a side benefit. Don't really find the body gels that I started using and got me hooked but the thick liquids work just fine. I hate looking at a dirty bar of soap on the sink or the shower. Comparable to leaving dirty underwear on the table during din-din.

I like goat milk bar soap. I get it at Drug Emporium.

I have a friend who is into organics. She uses Grandma's lye soap as it is supposedly chemical free (or maybe has less chemicals).

By Dr.'s suggestion, I use only Ivory bar soap, which no longer floats like it used to. Something about containing glycerin.. less drying.. less bouyant

And my DDIL gave me this: 'Occitane Verbanna shea butter soap and I am forever greatful.
I also love The Alaska Soap Company's Sitka Rose glacial silt soap.
My SIS brought me a lot of bar soap when she visited Alaska so I am well stocked.

We have a water softener, so no soap scum. If you have untreated hard water, that's another story! We use Irish Spring or Lever 2000 or whatever deodorant-type soap that Costco has.

To read about all the different kinds of soap everyone uses ! I like trying different scents, sometimes during the same shower.
My favorites right now are Softsoaps Pure Cashmere and Softsoaps Heavenly Vanilla.
I will have to try some of the ones mentioned here. I also like to buy different ones on line at Bath & Body Works

I hate the way the body washes make my skin feel after showering.They leave a slick film and I hate that.I don't feel clean.Also,body washes leave the tub and shower slick and I have almost fallen a couple of times when I did try one.I hate the moisturizers in the body washes.If I want to moisturize I'll use lotion! I use Tone bar soap,the original one with cocoa butter.I have used it for years.Awhile back they came out with a different formula and I couldn't find the original one anywhere.I was about to panic! LOL I found it at a Wal-Mart here in Albuquerque and bought several boxes.I haven't had a problem finding it lately.

Like Terri I don't buy any soap that is antibacterial, and try to stay as close to natural as possible. There is a couple that sells their homemade soaps at our weekly farmer's market, I stock up on that each summer.

Wildchild, I was told to use the original Dial bar. It is antibacterial. It sure has helped me but definitely leaves a ring around the tub.

Thanks Maryanne. I will give that a try. I have a bar of the Cetaphil I'm using right now. I tried the liquid but I get really dirty with the animals and all. I didn't feel like I was getting clean enough for after dealing with the tortoise and the turtle. Dog germs I don't worry about. LOL I seem to do better if I don't use hot water. After a shower my hands are at their worst. It only attacks the fingers mostly now.

The hardest thing is to keep my hands dry all the time.

Hubby uses Irish Spring....not the original scent, it's far too strong smelling. I think it's the Aloe he likes.

I don't like strong scented anything. Don't like air fresheners, fabric softeners, strong smelling detergents.

I've been using Grandmas lye soap on my face and in shower. It seems the liquid soaps have a lot of additives over and above the bar soaps. The lye soap doesn't have anything added, no scents, nothing un-needed. I've always had acne prone skin and this seems to really be helping. Another soap I picked up at a Dollar store, Palmolive bar. It really has a nice scent, I use it on my work in the yard sweaty days.

I use Dove bar soap, I personally think for me it is an unnecessary waste to use body wash. I use way to much of it. Dove is well known for washing off the body easy and leaves no ring in the tub if you are a bather.

For those of you concerned about our environment, Beware of anti bacterial products. Dial anti bacteria, Dial Gold in particular has triclosan in it, a chemical in it that is highly controversial. After 30 years it is in our drinking water, rivers and as a result is in our bodies.

I have a scalp problem and used dial gold as a shampoo and it put a halt to the itching, but didn't cure the problem. I quit using it when this came out in our paper.

I love locally made Goats Milk Soap bars, but also buy from a wonderful lady online. She has a wonderful selection of really good soap.
When we use liquid soap, it is usually Oil of Olay in Winter, followed by a nice rinse with Pantene Hair Conditioner. (Keeps skin from the winter dry skin itchies) and Bob like Zest liquid soap.
