In the middle of winter, nothing sounds better than a nice, long soak in a fragrant tub. Of course, if said bath happens to be in a lovely, Zen-like space adorned with hanging Turkish lanterns and casually rumpled linen hand towels, all the better. I’ve been dreaming of giving my own bathroom a mini makeover (there’s no room in the budget for the freestanding tub of my dreams), and these 22 finds are at the top of my wish list. — Laura from Lolalina
There are other tub caddies out there, but I am really loving this ebonized version from Peg and Awl. The dark hue is chic, and the company will custom make it to fit your tub.
Have you ever seen something as lovely as these crochet-edged linen hand towels? Of course they’re beautiful to put out for guests, but I say something this pretty deserves to be enjoyed every day!
Add ambience to the bath by hanging one or two of these Turkish lanterns over the tub or sink. Light candles inside for a warm glow while you soak in the tub.
Finally, a simple and chic dispenser for liquid soap. The rounded shape is pleasing to the touch. It also comes in dark gray.
Prefer bar soap? Store a big pile in a tin-coated, hammered brass bowl like the ones used in Turkish bathhouses. This one from Le Souk is amply sized for holding soap, washcloths or anything else you need to stash.
Speaking of soap, these jade-colored, gem-like bars from Pelle are almost too pretty to use. They would look amazing heaped into that brass bowl, don’t you think?
I’m getting tired of dealing with worn-out, sopping-wet bath mats — and I know I’m not the only one. Instead, I’m considering trying one of these Japanese cypress mats. The wood is aromatic and has antibacterial properties, so it will stay fresh.
Must have something soft underfoot? In that case try this bath mat from Anthropologie. The pattern and creamy shade remind me of a Beni Ourain rug.
We all keep the extra rolls under the sink, which is fine, but wouldn’t it be nice to have a way to store a few in plain sight when guests come over? This simple freestanding toilet paper holder from West Elm is the perfect solution. It’s great for renters, too — no holes in the wall.
These sweet little hand-printed bags from Pi’lo would make very nice storage for those extra washcloths, hand towels and delicates to launder. Hang them from hooks, store them on a shelf or just toss them under the sink.
I’m always seduced by bath products with pretty packaging, and this trio of Dead Sea bath salts from Herbivore Botanicals immediately caught my eye. I haven’t had a chance to try them yet, but the scents sound amazing.
I’ve always liked the idea of keeping things neat by using little apothecary jars, but they take up too much room on my tiny counter. So when I spied this stackable set from Anthropologie, it was love at first sight.
This simple wood block holder for makeup brushes looks so Zen. I imagine it would make getting ready in the morning feel just a little more special.
The area under your sink is a mess, right? Yep, mine is too. I think everyone (myself included) could use something like this to hang behind the cabinet door to keep things under control.
Like to listen to music in the bath or catch up on the news during your morning shower? This little radio from Tivoli Audio has great sound and sleek good looks, and it’s splash resistant. You can even take it with you when you travel.
These towels are light as air, thirsty as can be and available in the prettiest colors. I would get one of each and stack them on an open shelf where I could gaze at them.
Prefer a towel that’s superplush and fluffy? In that case I suggest these beauties from Anthropologie. They look incredibly soft and have a pretty yet subtle zigzag pattern.
I’m not a big fan of towel bars. I like how towels drape more casually from a hook and that you don’t have to be constantly fussing with perfectly creased and folded towels. And the bigger the hook, the better. These French ones from Bodie and Fou can handle even the biggest bath sheets with ease.
Who said you have to use an actual hamper to hold dirty laundry? For the bath I prefer to use a nice basket with handles for easy toting. This one from Calypso St. Barth would fill the bill.
Do you really need a chic toothbrush? Of course not. But I saw these, and I must say I’m sort of entranced. They would be nice to have on hand for guests who’ve forgotten theirs, and the charcoal blended into the bristles is supposed to help remove plaque.
Get Zen while you soak by burning incense in this cast iron holder from Task. Between uses, it will add minimalist good looks to your sink or the back of the toilet.
Do you remember when the only shower curtains out there were hideous and made of plastic? Thank goodness there are lots of great options these days. My current favorite is this gray yarn-dyed, pom-pom-edged one from Urban Outfitters.
