Maybe you should offer just the steps and hot tub cover and someone might need them. Perhaps their cover ripped or something.

Steps would have been handy for me when my daughter had an above ground pool. An old lady needs all the assistance she can get.

I'm waiting to hear from my Niece. She is suppose to come for a 2 day visit. Then we are going to eat at our new Mexican Restaurant.

I have a pile of carpet in the garage that I pulled out of my bathroom a couple of months ago. Last night I lifted it up to move it and a snake slithered right back under it trying to hide. I screamed at the top of my lungs. What a surprise! LOL!

The carpet is still there and the snake just might be. I'm not looking. My heart can't take another surprise.

It's a lazy day here. I did a couple loads of laundry and that's been it for the day. Jammer plans to mow the yard later today and I'll water plants while he's mowing. It's around 100 F. here today! We've been sitting outside on the front porch. It's hot, but there is a breeze.

We'll probably eat left-overs for dinner. We grilled pork ribs and corn on the cob last night and had quite a bit left over. I'll add a salad to that for dinner.

Hi kathy, it is hot and sunny here also. I got up around 9 this morning, ate breakfast if you can call peanut butter filled oreos and hot tea breakfast. Then I got on the 'puter for awhile in my night gown. Went upstairs to shower etc. got back on here. I had the same thing for lunch that I had for breakfast and around 1:00 I curled up on the sofa with my 3 chihuahuas and went to sleep for awhile. Got up about 4:00 and started some spaghetti sauce. It is simmering now and will until about 5:30. Was going to make some corn bread but don't feel like it. Not a very interesting day. I wonder why the guy didn't take the pool cover? Hmmmmm guess he doesn't mind skimming stuff out of the pool. Hope you have a good evening. Vique.

We went to church and then to Jason's Deli for lunch. It was the 8 y o's BD, so she chose. It was so crowded I don't know why the fire marshall doesn't have a fit. Her GPs from Tulsa were here and met us for lunch. Instead of coming to church w/ us they went to Toys R Us and bought her a Wii. Amazing!! DS and DGS#2 came over and we went down and they ate BD cake. Her party starts at 6:00--swimming and then a slumber party. Her sisters are dressing up like Hannah Montana and they will teach the girls some dances. I know all these little girls b/c I've been volunterring in their class for the last 2 years.

I've got another Ruth Rendell book to read in the meantime. It's about 100 here now and staying in is the way to go!!

He probably didn't take the cover because it needed replacing but that was part of the free deal, he was to take it all out of there.

Gayle, I don't mind snakes unless they surprise me or they are big and crawling toward me!

I had to stop, I'm down to one peice of sandpaper (thought I had more) and I really need a mask. I didn't think it would be that bad but I really shouldn't be breathing in that dust, especially with my asthma. Going to a little hardware store so I don't have to go into our huge Wal-Mart, which I hate.

I need to start my spaghetti sauce too. I picked my first big tomato of the season too!!!

I just got back from the commissary. At least it wasn't crowded at all but the shelves were pretty bare.

Mike and Bobby vacuumed the house while I was gone. I have invited Ken over for dinner. Rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, fresh asparagus, rolls, cranberry sauce and gravy.

For right now I am going to play on the computer for an hour.

Today I slept in and then I spent some time reading quilting books. I took the dogs outside, and did some stuff out there. I made dinner for my family and my mil...steak, salad and fried potatoes. We had homemade butterscotch pie for dessert. Then tonight we sat outside for a while and had a tea. It really was a nice, relaxing day.

Too darn hot (for me) to do anything outside except pick some Swiss chard for dinner. DH took three naps, which meant I had to be quiet, so an excuse for computer time. Went to town for lunch and ran a couple of errands..home for leftover potroast dinner, did one load of laundry, now I'm back here. A really relaxing Sunday. Good thing..tomorrow there are a lot of things that need doing, as I AM LEAVING TOMORROW EVENING FOR MY GD'S WEDDING IN OREGON!

It has been a beautiful day here....warm, light wind and clear blue skies.
I did some laundry, worked in the yard a while, made a couple loaves of bread and baked a turkey breast with garden herbs and carrots. I made gravy with the drippings and steamed some brocco-flower. I also made a big pot of rice so I can make fried rice later in the week.
I was going to make a cake for Jake's second birthday but since he is with his parents and his other grandparents, I didn't. DH and I don't need the calories.
I need to pay some bills a little later and maybe take a walk around the neighborhood.

Well, I asked Alex's friend, Ross, who practically lives at my house half the time take the hot tub cover and metal cover thing to the dump tomorrow. He got his full license now and his dad's older truck. They decided to take it tonight! I told them it probably wouldn't be open but Ross said you could still take it there. It's just out of town and free.

Now I get to worry till they come back. It's dark, three 16 year olds in a truck. Another of their friends is staying the night tonight.

I never did make the spaghetti sauce, went out to get the sandpaper and mask and went through Wendy's drive through for all of us. Spaghetti tomorrow. Came home and sanded till my back ached. Sprayed some paint remover on both pieces and scrapped and scrapped. They still aren't completely clean. I think I may just get the loose stuff off and paint them with Kilz and then put the stain on. It's an opaque stain so I don't think it will matter.

While I was out there I thought I'd repaint Lauren's dresser this weekend. She's been wanting to paint her room black, which I said no to. So, I thought about the dresser. We were going to do it in purple, even bought the paint a couple years ago, but never got around to it. Now she's into black, red and dark purple-yikes. The purple we picked out was more of a lavender purple.

Nan, have a good and safe trip! I've only seen the southeastern corner of Oregon before. Would love to visit someday. When I was a teenager I wanted to move there - LOL! It just seemed so much more greener than NV.

Arrived home Sat morn. early, busy day catching up on things, including a while picking beans.

After a short sleep, started more picking beans and peas (part of trellis had fallen over) after sunup this morning ... till too late to go to church. Took a few peas and a bunch of beans, plus half a dozen zucchini to the two churches that I attend ... just in time for coffee hour (actually, rather late at the second one). Told the folks that I've been away for most of a month, so some of the beans are rather old ... if they were hard to snap, to put them aside and give them a shot in the pressure cooker: that should tenderize 'em!

Had quite a few beans left over, took some to Iva Mae ... and the Men's and Women's Mission.

Ive Mae gave me copies of some of the pics taken by Carol and Danielle along the route out west.

Only something over half of the beans picked, so more of that to do tomorrow.

The back and legs are rather unenthusiastic about all of that bending and crawling!

Did some shopping, some sorting and stowing of stuff from the car. And am behind on some financial records.

Tomorrow's a (civic) holiday here ... and on Tuesday I have to go for the evaluation prior to my cataract surgery in a couple of weeks.
