I was wrapping up the outside gardening (inside is seed germination) this weekend and decided to leave the blooming zinnias and morning glory for color as long as I could get it. It looks to be only a couple more days before they're hit with frost. I'm getting really good this being able to tell the seasons just by the sun in the sky thing ;) The last marching band contest I worked was last weekend. I will be a spectator this upcoming weekend, one time. One time in four years of every contest and football game. I never get to see the show from the stands. This year, they'll be cushioned, reserved seats. All up high. Guess I better remember the camera. I spent all of Friday evening and all day Saturday thanking each person individually for all the kindness shown to us as it's not my son's primary school. We came in as strangers to them all (they all know each other because they grew up in the same neighborhoods and attend the same schools/churches), and we're leaving enriched by their friendships. I spent a lot time on the field crying bittersweet tears. One of the friends said why are you crying? I said I am going to miss y'all, all y'all, something fierce. The reply was, you know where to find us. Truly salt of the earth kind of people. I'm ready to be done with public transport though! Two more train rides and six bus rides. On Thursday, I'll have to be up and ready at the bus stop by 5AM?! I don't relish that one. It's the day he'll have to be at band practice from 6:30AM-7PM with a couple of breaks. Is it over yet?!

woodrose, the Kentucky Governor's cup (and the Tennessee Governor's cup) is always awarded at Contest of Champions, at MTSU. That's the "state" I was talking about. I assume there are other contests and awards given. mama, there's a white supremacist rally that has descended on Shelbyville/Murfreesboro this weekend. 1) they're erring on the side of caution for the sake of the children, and 2) I THINK they want the MTSU campus police to help out since activities on the square are in such close proximity to the campus.

I worked my tutu off today. Honestly I have no idea where all the dust comes from. The base of the TV in the family room is shiney black and OMG it was so dusty. I thought to myself shame on you Mama what if someone happened to drop by and saw your pig pen..than I remembered outside of my kids no one visits. Lol. So it was a long day of housework. Than during dinner clean up I thought I really should scrub the frig out but decided to save it for morning. I have some deep cleaning I'd like to get done before the holidays providing I can find the energy which isnt looking very promising.

I like how normal our lives are. I enjoy hearing about your shopping, families, cleaning, and adventures. Kathy, will your son be home until he enters the air force? Will your daughter be with you for awhile? I have 3 daughters and love getting togtehr with them. Not always easy with their work and mommy obligations. I try to help them. Today DH and I went to some tile stores in the area. He would have preferred not, but he had nothing else planned. Does it make me a bad wife if it makes me nervous if he sits the day away? We are shopping for tile for the kitchen backsplash and tile for remodeling the master bath at the riverhouse. DH is the installer. We brought home samples for backsplash and have some serious contenders. We found tile we liked for shower and floor in bathroom. The new bathroom is long overdue like years. We have had a difficult time finding something we both liked. Not unusual for us. DH will measure bathroom and Monday we will order the tile. Our bedroom will get a major refresh also. All has to done by summer, 2018. Wishing you all a restful night.
