I seem to change mine rather often, but then I use my computer and mouse a lot. I wonder if part of the problem is my battery source: Dollar Tree. They're decent brands, though.

It might be cheaper to buy a better battery that has a long expiration date. I often wonder about the quality of things bought at dollar stores. I haven't got a battery mouse but when I was computer shopping, I was told that the batteries last about a year. I don't know if that is true or not.

I seem to have to change the batteries in mine every 4-5 months. And I'm on my machine every day. I tried the dollar store batteries for a little battery operated fan I have next to my chair, and they didn't last 2 days. I'll pay a little more for brand name, tried and true batteries.

I buy Duracell and check the expiration date on the package. Sometimes I pull out 5 or 6 packages to find the freshest ones. As I mentioned I'm on a scientific quest now to determine how long they really last.

My PC knowledge could be put on my little finger. I didn't realize that leaving the little mouse receiver gizmo in my USB port when not using my PC drained my battery.

The batteries I get from the dollar store are Panasonic and Sunbeam. I'm a big Panasonic fan, so I'd assume these are okay. The expiration date is years away. Maybe the problem (if it is a problem) is my Logitech mouse.

There was a list a while back of things you shouldn't buy at the $$ stores and one of them was batteries.
I don't even remember the last time we had to replace the batteries in our mouse. We use Duracell.

I find that battery life depends on my usage of the mouse. Some of the online games require extended periods of holding down the button which will use up the batteries more quickly. Doing a lot of scrolling during searches could also use the battery life more quickly.

I started turning my mouse off when I'm not using it. I can't tell if that has helped or not, but I'm pretending it has.

I hear this often and never have this problem. I use my computer alot and I have to change my battery maybe once every 8 or so months, if that. I havent changed it this year yet.

I don't know how often I change mine but I bought some rechargable batteries when we went to Germany a few years ago and use them most of the time, when I can find them. They're currently missing.

Me three! My mouse batteries last a loongg time - if I remember to turn the mouse off.

I have a Microsoft wireless mouse with a USB connection.
I turn it off every time I leave the laptop.
I'm on a lot. Maybe 4-5 hours a day, easy.

And get 2-3 months from a Duracell battery.

I never unplug the USB transponder. Excessive plugging and unplugging devices in a USB port can, over just 2-3 years wreck a USB Port.

My computer burned up the wireless receiver in my lap top. I had to give the second wireless mice back, and am now using the detested mouse pad on the puter. I prefer a trackball, but worry I will just burn that up too.

My mouse doesn't turn off - I'd have to remove the batteries.
