Definitely let her know. If you don't care to speak to her? How about leaving a big poster in your windshield so she can see it, that says:
"BE A DEAR...MOVE YOUR REAR...FORWARD, so I can get out too!"

Is she fairly young - or a new driver? It sounds like she is practicing her parking ability. I, too, would leave her a note pointing out that she is parking too close to your bumper in case you would get hemmed in.

Yesterday I was backing out of a parking spot. The woman next to me started backing up too. She was blocking me. I just gave her a dirty look, she pulled back into the parking spot, letting me out. I waved as I left, hope she understood I meant "Thanks" , not something nasty. If she hadn't moved, I would have started to cry.

She may not realize.

She made be asssuming that you will always have enough space behind you.

(I know when we parallel park, if we're parking in front of someone whose rear bumper aligns with "dead" space, such as a hydrant, or a driveway, or a crosswalk, we will pull tight to their bumper, to maximize the space in front of us for the other people who will park on that block. But we only do that if we know they'll have space on the other side regardless)

I bet she's really sort of inexperienced, and has either been told or has assumed that one should park tightly. And hasn't thought about what that means in terms of getting back out of a space.

Don't be snarky, just go over and say, "Hi, I'm Ang, I'm the one w/ that blue Saturn. I've noticed you pull up very closely to my bumper, and it worries me that if someone parks tightly behind me, it'll be hard to get out. It's usually a good idea to leave about a forearm's-length of space between bumpers; could you start leaving that much space?"

(in Jannie's case, maybe that woman just didn't realize that Jannie was moving when she started--people aren't always intentionally rude; they just don't see, or they never learned)

I thought surely SOMEONE would be thinking what I'm thinking... simple have someone pull up in front of her... work back and forth and leave one inch of space between bumpers.

She'd learn the value of adequate space. Might be a little mean, or would it?

Or, you could go all Kathy Bates and ram her car over and over and when she comes out screaming 'what are you doing?' lean out your car window and say 'I'm older than you honey and have more insurance'.

Not a realistic suggestion but nice to dream about, eh?
