I fixed a pizza. Needed to get in another vegetable so made fordhook lima beans.

Both of your dinners sound great. And you know just by you posting it, that I'll be on the look out for the M&Ms.

What do you put in your twice baked potatoes, and how do you heat them after they've been frozen?

dh grilled t-bones and "sacked" new potatoes and onions..we so rarely eat expensive and rich meat, had a bunch leftover...so put it all in the freezer for another dinner...but sure was good...

Just got back from my step-father's. We had a barbecue. He provided the steaks and baked potatoes. We brought salads and desserts and wine.

Hubby was sitting with one of the step-sisters and her son, and the son asked if there were cookies for dessert. Hubby said that he didn't think so, and he said that he sure misses Grandma's cookies. Hubby told me that on the way home and I teared up, thinking of Mom.

We are having bbq chicken breast and potato salad. I'm excited....DD the cook for a year now is away and I have been a whirlwind in the kitchen (well, almost) whipping up MY stuff. Nothing like liking ones own cooking...says ungrateful Mom

ps...I really am grateful that she cooks for us....but once in a while.......

I fixed him him his favorite breakfast, we went to Lowes and he bought new play toys um er I mean tools. Then we went to Tuesday Morning and he found a great leather messenger style bag his laptop fits in.
We picked up Subway sandwiches for dinner.

We had a big breakfast for us so we just had shrimp cocktails and French spring soup for dinner.

We are in Washington and went up Mount St. Helen sightseeing. On the way back we stopped at a little pizza/sub shop we found last year. Had wonderful subs that were toasted and so delicious. We also had shakes to go with them.

Nita, I love reading about your trips. Wish I had a milk shake about now.

Glenda, I've never had Captain D's. I think we have one here but we don't venture into town much. Plenty of places on this side of the interstate to eat.

Shirley, I put sour cream, green onion (just a little), and grated Cheddar in the potatoes, put them on a cookie sheet and froze them. When they were frozen, I sealed two each in bags for future meals. I forgot to add melted butter and salt, but no big deal. I put them in the oven frozen at 350 and usually bake while I have chicken or something baking. Maybe 35-40 minutes. Depending on how much is in the oven.

Every once in a while a steak tastes so good! Your dinner is mouth-watering, Susanjf. Glad you have enough for later.

I know what you mean, Nanny. When we go on vacation, I'm always ready to get back into the kitchen. It would be nice to have someone to do it 3 or 4 days a week. Maybe you could work out a schedule so you could cook for them some. I loved my mother's cooking!

Georgysmom, it sounds like a nice, relaxing day. I should make your soup. It's light enough to be good in the summer--plus it's full of vegetables!!

We arrived home around noon from a 2 day tent camping trip. Hit the shower, then the grocery store. Then I made a brocoli/bacon/onion quiche....it was so deep dish that I put a top crust on it! It was excellent topped with grated cheese.
