Friend and I drove a ways to get there. Last time I went was 3 years ago and got a speeding ticket.

Their specialty is fried pulley bones. Had the pulley bone with a small bite of roast, ham, awesome mashed potatoes, fresh creamed corn, and broccoli cornbread. Worth the drive.

Saturdays they serve chocolate gravy and biscuits.

Glenda, can I ask you what is pulley bones? chocolate gravy & biscuits are big in TN. Never had them.

For dinner it was cold cuts, easy day.

The weather was great today. Very windy & cold. It was 18 this morning & only got to 30 today. The wood stove sure does keep the house nice & warm.

Some call them wish bones! Here, we've always called them pulley bones.

My supper was not much, peanut butter sandwich, a banana and a glass of milk. I sure remember calling them pulley bones too Glenda. I am not fond of white meat. I hope you have had a good day Patti.

My meal was stuffed peppers and a potato. Tasted good on this cold day (mid 20s) in Ohio. They shut my electric off last night for maintenance. Robo call said it would be down from 1am to 4am, but it didn't come back on until after 7:30. Now that was one cold night!!

Sue, I have to thank you for a reminder about the noodles. The last few times I've made them they seemed more difficult than usual. After reading your noodle post the other day I figured it out. I had forgotten to roll them out before cutting them. Today was much easier and I thank you!

Shirley, what a time they picked to do maintenance on your electric. Are they crazy? Hope you didn't get too cold and stayed in bed until it warmed up.

Thanks for letting me know what pulley bones are. I guess this is another southern name as I never heard wish bones called that.

In the 16 years we have lived down south, we have learned a whole new language. We just love the south.

I don't think it is a southern thing about the pulley bones. I live in central Indiana and Patti 43 is also from Indiana.

Tonight it's broiled pork loin chops, sprinkled with Johnny's seasoning salt. A huge salad with lots of different greens and cucumber with baslmic vinegar and olive oil.

My grandmother was fond of 'the pope's nose' AKA 'the part of the bird that went over the fence last'. (I never realized until this moment, typing it, that this could be *offensive*! It's just what I heard as a small child.)

Still trying to imagine how there would be much meat on a wishbone...

My dinner will be broth. I have a toothache and haven't heard back from the dentist's 'emergency' line. Looks like I'll be taking Tylenol #3 until tomorrow.

Wishbone and breast bone are not the same thing. The pulley is the wishbone. The keel bone is part of the breast bone.

I made a big mixed green salad with tomatoes, chickpeas, mushrooms, raw brocc., carrot slices, walnuts, quinoa, and croutons....dressed it with homemade thousand island. Yum. We never miss a thing on our meatless suppers.

How well I know the parts of the chicken. My ex always cut up the chicken southern style, and I HAD to learn. Made a mess when it came to the pulley bone and cutting the keel off, but I did it :o)

Some meat departments will cut the chicken for you southern style, but you have to ask. When we had Food World, here, they would.

I had to work yesterday. It's unusual for me to go in on a Sunday, but we have a state deadline to meet. Ended up working until 4:30. DH decided to meet me afterward & we went to see The Hunger Games. Then we splurged on dinner at The Melting Pot. We'll be eating at home for a while now after that splurge. We're both off this week, so that should make it easy.

Sunday was a beautiful, cold, wintry, sunny day.

We bought a 2-pack of frozen Delissio pizza when we were doing groceries. It was on sale, plus I had a $2 coupon. Boy have they changed! They are a LOT smaller.......square instead of round. The package said Party Pack but they wouldn't come close to feeding a group of people. With frozen food I always add more veggies, sauce and cheese.

Thank heavens for the coupon, we won't be buying that again. We had a salad with it as well.
