patti is busy, today, so I'm subbing :o)

Dear grandson wanted quality time with me, today, so, of course, I was accommodating.

He wanted wings, and that's what we had.

He loves them HOT and I mean HOT.

I had mine mild, and we were, both, satisfied.

After lunch, I helped him reserve tee time at the golf course, as a Father's Day gift for he and his dad. They had a Father's Day special.

So what's on your dinner table, today?

Glenda, you're spending so much time in the pool you're turning into a fish!! :-) That is a long, active day, Georgysmom. At least at bridge you can sit for a while!! Hope your headache's gone for good. Taco salad sounds like more work than I'd be up for after all day on the golf course. It's supposed to get hot up in your area the next couple of days, so drink lots of water. Shirley, one stack coming up! Of course your dinner took effort--mine, not so much. Jasdip, if you don't like the heat I guess I can't plan to see you in Florida in the summertime, huh? Hope you have air conditioning! Or big, big fans. Too hot to cook, that's for sure.

I had a couple over for dinner. The plans were made early in the week, then hubby got called this morning to go play in a band, for today. It's a company picnic. and he's having a blast. He's phoned me a few times to tell me about it. So we carried on without him. Chicken Marabella with rice and broccoli, and chocolate-zucchini cake from a fresh zucchini. I made 4 loaves of bread today as well, and sent 1 loaf home with my friends.

Hi! We're home and I couldn't be happier. It wasn't a very good trip. First day, we got a speeding ticket. We were on 441N and the road (4-lane) was completely empty. You could see in front and behind you for miles. It was very hard to keep the speed at 55, under the circumstances. I do not know where that policeman came from! We got to the motel in Madison, which was about as far north as we could go and find a room considering UGA had a home game. Our room was the farthest one from the nearest entry and Harry had an awful time even with his walker. Got him to the room and then got the bags out (three trips down that daggone hall). Next day I got car sick. Man, My equilibrium was totally whacked and I was really sick to my stomach. I pretty much stayed that way until Tuesday when we decided enough was enough and I called his brother, who we'd planned to visit on the way back to see if we could come a day early. We were both pretty much okay after we were out of the car for a while. And I didn't get sick on the way home at all. I think it was all the windy curvy roads that did me in. I learned a lesson though. It broke my heart that Harry hurt so much. We just need to take weekend trips closer to home. He just can't do it anymore and I wish I'd realized it before I made the suggestion. He was all for going and I think he's a little depressed because it wasn't much fun for either of us. And the biggest blah was that we didn't even have very good food. I was hungry for some real barbeque and the lodge where we stayed in NC supposedly had prize winning barbeque at their restaurant. It was about the worst I've ever had and was dripping in some tart, icky red sauce. Now we're just glad to be home and sleeping in our own bed. I don't think we'll be burning up the road any time soon.

Tonights clam fritters, and whatever quick side I decide to put with them, baked beans (canned), or brown rice (frozen). Yogurt and some california strawberries I picked up today. Patti, enjoy your sister. I see mine about 6-8 times a year, she's just 2 hours away and we talk a couple of times a month. I love her to death..... and at the same time, she exhausts me when here - she never stops talking. And surely doesn't even know she does it, but if she's awake, she's talking :)

yummy georgesmom, blackened catfish! I love catfish, and tried to convince gs to have fried catfish tacos, today, but his mind was already set.

pam, your dinner sounds delicious! How do you like your steak?

janni, fried steak sandwiches sounds great! And sweet potato fries, sends it over the top.

It was gs's idea for the golfing treat and he's even paying the bill. I just helped him make the reservatons.

I am thinking pizza, my friend and I have been out shopping and I am worn slap out. It was HOT out there. I had water squirting out of me like I was a darn sprinkler. My hair, which I had just washed and fixed, was dripping. I almost bought a towel and wrapped up my head lol.

So that pizza in the freezer is sounding easy but I hate to turn on the oven.

Tacos. No one but me at home. My kids are with the father, not sure about Sola. She hasn't answered my call or text. Got home a little bit ago from work, got to leave on my 8 hour day.

ravencajun, sounds like a sweltering day! We had a HUGE storm come thru last night and blew the humidity away, yea!

Enjoy your pizza! And get out of the kitchen as fast as you can :o)

Japanese noodles sounds good, Carol. I really would love to see your recipe, please.

Pan-fried talapia, rice side dish of some kind. I just ate an ice cream bar so dinner can be anything!

Hubby is in Toronto tonite playing in a band. It's a rare Tuesday nite gig. It's an old established hotel who has had Tom Petty and Buck Owens play there in the past! :)

It's an early nite for him, he'll be home around 11, and the bar feeds them.

So since I'm on my own, I took some cooked fettucine from the freezer and defrosted some pasta sauce and had that. I'm now having dessert which consists of corn flakes with granola cereal on top.
I also have 3 cats eyeing me for the leftover milk!

This was the night that we sisters bring in fast food to the Home where my special needs sister lives......sister's night. It was my turn to bring food for Annie. I took chili, baked potato from Wendy's. Chicken McBites from McDs. Sierra Mist special flavor for summer to drink. And stopped at a local bakery who makes the best brownies. I mostly buy large sizes of all the foods so she and I can split the food. Only problem was that they gave me SPICY chicken bites. She ate them but I told the nurse what she had, in case she complains later on.

After we ate, we went to her room and cleaned out her closet and her dresser drawers, and to assess what clothes she'll be needing.
