Could you help me shop? I'm buying, LOL 1 photo

This photo was posted on one of my bird forums. I must/must/must have this bird feeder.

The owner's mother bought it at a "fancy nick-knack" shop in Minnesota. They didn't know more than that.

I long for one of these feeders. I've searched the Internet in every way I could think of and haven't found it. It appears to be a bronze finish metal; they didn't know if it was meant to hold orange halves, but they stuck them on the extra leaves anyway. I think it's perfect.

Could you keep an eye open and if you see one, let me know. I'll pay as generously as I can to get it shipped to me.

Check out this website www.shopwbu.com. It's a Wild Birds Unlimited Store. We have one here in town and they have the neatest feeders. I love that store. I'm at work and didn't have time to look for that exact feeder but maybe you can check it out. That's a pretty cool feeder.

Hi Angela; I so appreciate the help, but yes, Wild Birds' Unlimited was one of the first places I looked. I love their stores and site.

Isn't it just the greatest? I have so many orioles and other sweet-beaks. I've never "needed" a certain feeder so badly! LOL

Sigh - I envy my more southern and western sisters and brothers, at least where I live, Walmart, Home Depot, etc. don't have much out yet. But. For us space and price challenged, I was delighted to find a Suncast resin storage box 22" x 22" - snaps together in minutes - at Walmart for ~30$. I own the Suncast vertical shed - these ARE resin, but, they are holding up great and keep the water out! Good stuff for the price! Also there is some organic gardening soil with 3 months of natural fertilizer for $5 a bag - this is some of the best soil I have ever seen, already has perlite - I never pot straight from the bag without amendments but I was able to with this stuff. And one cheap Queen Elizabeth bagged rose, for a problem spot that needs a nice tall bush. I'll be heading back to get some more soil, and any interesting roses.......

I do sentinal beach combing, write down and keep track of everything that washes up on the beach. Years ago I went to Florida for the seabean convention, yes, it's real, every October in Coco beach. One of the attendees works cleaning the beach. She had found a "brick". Threw it in the dumpster at the park. Well, when we found out we all HAD to go and look. So we loaded up in 3 cars, drove across town, PAID to get into the park and proceeded to pull everything out of the dumpster she had thrown in. We were looking at bottles, big chunks of something we tried to break open by dashing it against the parking lot, the "brick", which was a very well-wrapped package of very high grade marijuana. It was pretty stinky and rotten. But did that stop us? Oh no, we all had to smell it, touch it. So here we are, a bunch of old farts in a parking lot, professors, lawyers, nurses, throwing around stuff that had washed up on the beach and playing with a couple of pounds of rotted marijuana. The people at the hotel had a good time watching us but luckily noone called the police. I do not know how we would have explained that one!! Honestly officer, we're out here in the pitch dark digging through a dumpster with a couple of pounds of marijuana because we're at a seabean convention!!! Do you think they would have thrown us in jail or just the nut ward? I gotta make reservations for next year, that's a fun convention. Tally HO!

I too love Pier 1's HIGH SIERRA scent. I purchased several bottles of it right off the discount rack earlier this year after having purchased one previously at regular price. I'm getting real low on them though as I put 2 bottles throughout my home. I didn't realize it was discontinued. I've also grown to like CRISP BAMBOO and recommend it... I picked up several bottles of this one, also off the discount rack, recently. I will put in a call to the 800 # provided to request for HIGH SIERRA scent to be brought back. Thanks for the updates.

I've always loved rice. Loved it (plain white) hot w/ milk & sugar for breakfast when I was a kid but never eat it that way now. I make rice far more often than potatoes so buying multiple pounds at a time is something I do, too. Was always just plain white, brown or wild rice until the last few years...until I tasted Basamati rice. Wow, this is rice? Great stuff. Since then, I've added Jasmine rice which I now prefer to Basamati. Have a container of Arborio rice that I haven't tried yet and one or two other varieties. Have not tried black, red or brown Jasmine rice because I don't recall ever seeing them in the grocery stores here. Not a lot of selection smallish Upper Midwest. Need to put them on a list for the next trip to Woodman's.

Looks like it could be locally made too. Looks like copper tubing and a glass bowl. A local artisan could have made it!

Wow! Thanks for all the replies. Some sites I'd already found and some were great surprises. Please, keep the ideas coming.

I found out the feeder was sold "several years ago" by The Red Poppy in Pine City, MN. They're not answering the phone today; I'll try them tomorrow. Surely I can find one.

Kat WA...I thougt about finding a metalsmith and showing him the photo; I'm sure it would be easy to duplicate.

That would probably, in DH's mind anyway, going a bit far since my orioles are perfectly happy with the modified budgie feeder I made for their jelly and the plastic ring that holds their orange segment. LOL

Thanks again, folks. And please let me know if you find more interesting feeder ideas like all of these.
