Nita, I figure I'll have the get-together now and when you finally do make an appearance in CA, it will just be reason for celebration once again. You know even though the Bakersfield gathering was, what, 10-12 years ago? My hubby still tells people about Nita, the lady who rides a pretty trike around the country. We had a great time. Happy Birthday, Linda! We are sneaking in for a few minutes at a rest area. I think it's neat that Iowa has free internet at the rest areas. Thanks again, for dinner, Sandy. As for them stowing away in the bathroom, as it was in use after we left them, and there isnt' much room in the shower, I don't think that would have worked! they would have had to be pretty up close and personal to even stand in the shower to stow away! And boy, did we catch heck for leaving the RV in DH's cousin's driveway, and just taking the truck up to Sandy's! They wanted to drive it! Or at leasst get their pic taken looking like it! Awwwww sweet family Haley! My gosh Bella and Luca are getting BIG! They look like 2 pea's in a pod though! I am not sure of games, the only thing I can think of is one where you ID spices? You remove labels from the spice jar and number them. (be sure you write down what they are with the numbers before you remove the label! LOL) Pass around and make everyone try to guess what they are. I did find a description of a 1950's "housewife duties" that you could read? Its sure to cause some laughs and "discussion" From a Home Economics class in the 1950's... Housewife Duties * Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they get home and the prospect of a good meal is part of the warm welcome needed. * Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. * Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it. * Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives. Run a dustcloth over the tables. * During the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering to his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction. * Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet. * Be happy to see him. * Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him. * Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours. * Don't greet him with complaints and problems. * Don't complain if he's late for dinner or even if he stays out all night. Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through at work. * Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or lie him down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. * Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice. * Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him. * A good wife always knows her place. Good grief I evidently hit some nerves. I definately don't feel superior nor would I want all to be like me. I feel just the opposite. I love our diferences! Feel that I have grown as a person from many here believe it or not. I kinda celebrate our diferences. I love the KT yes it has evolved, it had always welcomed new people that's the fun of it I think. I have been trying to find a better way to convey my "fun" remark so it doesn't sting anyone since it seems it has. I can't explain it. It was not just us posting, we interacted on a diferent level. I miss it. Simple enough. That shouldn't be wrong nor should it make anyone feel any kind of anger toward any that feel as I do. It doesn't mean I like the kt any less. Good grief. Being attacked for feeling a certain way just reminds me of what some called the meanies. It's not nessessary doesn't change anything. I hope new people continue to come...also that old timers would return.
