When I get to pull out my new bedding, I'll finally get a chance to use my "bed crown." Okay, so it is actually a gaudy plastic shelf from TJMaxx. I bought it years ago with the idea of turning it into a bed crown. You know, hung upside down (like in the pic) and repainted in an aged gold.

The bed set is one of those matchy-matchy 20 piece bed-in-a-bag sets. I got it so I could use the fabric from the valances and drapes for the bed crown fabric. The drapes will cascade down each side of the bed.

XFingers crossed that it works!X

Great pics and LOL to some of you! Sadly nothing is hanging above our bed, because nearly weekly I vacillate between bird prints, shells, a landscape, a mirror, or some architectural something...none of which I have found yet!!

My bed is cornered in my master bedroom, so there is nothing above my head. There are a bunch of cobwebs strung from the ceiling fan that is centered above the bed, but hopefully, they will be gone tomorrow!

There are a couple of iron candle holders with little crystals hanging on each side of the bedroom window, the one in the photo is behind the headboard not over the bed. One of these old days, I will try to take a full view of that wall.

Actually did have a small floral print hanging in the center too, but DH was nervous it would fall on our heads, lol...

Nothing over our master bed, bed has enough presence that I don't think it needs anything. Similar to Cliff and Joann's giraffes, I have zebras over my guest bed!

There seems to be an animal trend here! Above my bed are 3 large framed photos of mother-and-child animals: a giraffe momma and baby; a polar bear momma trying to get some sleep as her cub tries to climb up on her back; and 2 pandas from the National Zoo (Mei Xiang and cub Tai Shan), just resting together against a wall.

It has suited me and the other creature who lived in the room--my pup (she's gone now, but another one will move in soon, i hope!). I think the polar bear pic was so similar to most moms--just trying to get a few minutes of rest and the "kid" just wants to play!

Sorry no pic; there was a ton of glare coming in from the windows, tho curtains were drawn.

Roseabby: The MBR the most personal space in the home, as far as I am concerned, so take your time figuring out what's going to make you happy and serene in the spot over the bed. There's a lot of "stuff" that places like HomeGoods and Marshalls sell, but don't jump too quickly!

I have a print of Charleston, SC. I would like to add something else on either side. Don't know what, but I am thinking just having curtains on the windows would help, and the interior fabric will hang behind the bed post..

Nicole - I love that dragon! How original and cool!

We have a tall,vaulted ceiling and wanted something to "take up space". I came up with this concoction:

Pharaoh ya wimp :oP Here in Alaska in real earth quake country (verses those silly little shake up ya'll whine about) we hang glass and metal above our head and DARE it to come down on us!

(and right in front of that dangly light fixture we have the main support beam that holds up the ceiling LOL and the light is hung extra well to ensure it does not jiggle down during a quake heh heh)

I don't really have a behind the bed wall but do have small art items on the wall that the bed side tables butt up to.

But really normally...there is a child on that counter or a dog or a cat...they all love it:

My bed backs up to a cabinet we use for storage so really all I have is a pretty counter top and a view behind the bed in the lake house.

In the other place, I think a picture would be too much...I do think the bed sort of dictates what belongs belongs behind it somewhat:

We have a very simple piece over the bed, a forest of white birches, using the bed itself as a frame. Still looking for the right lamps/shades. I have since added some green silk pillows to add some color and have ordered a Chocolate Brown chair with a print in the same green. i will post again when it comes in.

The bed came with the house :) It was commissioned for the original builder of our new home in the 1880's and has been in the home ever since. Lincoln never slept in it (that I know of LOL) But some other cool people did...and now it will have to put up with us :) What a down turn in life, from Robert Wagner to us :op

Like teacats, i like old portraits, and old vintage pictures in general. At the moment I have what looks to be a French vintage ball scene, in a Rennaisance style. The colors are absolutely beautiful, w/many of the dancers wearing blue~I had just changed to a blue comforter, accessories, etc. The frame was nice enough to leave, but rather than leaving it all gold, I painted a 1 1/2" potion the blue color of the bedding, which really made the blue pop in the picture!

I'm also using white pillows, white lampshades, and have white-ware in the armoire that holds the tv. All I have to do now is get the chandlelier up. ;o)
