I would not use a chair rail. it will just cut your bedroom in two.

SW Blonde and Mannered Gold are pretty popular. You probably saw pictures of those in the Gallery.
I can't remember whose picture this is, but the color is Shelburne Buff.

You said you looked in the Gallery, which specific colors appealed to you? I love the rendering of Decatur Buff in Newhomebuilder's pictures above, and the Shelbourne Buff by Msrose . My own bedroom has Laura Ashley Gold #3 and it's a great color because it goes with so much. But I like the look of it better during the day, so if your room is already very dark, you might like something more browned, rather than a color that becomes more intense at night.

We just painted our living room, which is a fairly dark room (not a lot of natural light, and dark wood trim and furnishings), SW Blonde -- after MANY samples -- and I love it. It's neutral enough without being boring. Sometimes it looks almost beigey-tan, other times it looks more yellow-gold, but it always looks great. I think this photo (at least on my monitor) makes it look more pale/yellowish than it is IRL.

I am not sure I would do a chair rail.
BM Wilmington tan is the color I have used - also looks good with wood trim. It is very simliar to SW Mannered gold mentioned above - actually all these colors are simliar.

Wow! These colors are fairly alike! Another to consider that falls in good company with the above is SW Dromedary Camel. Some one here has it, I'm just not sure who. But it looks fantastic!
