Very interesting. I think the dark trim brings out the brown tones of RP. I have it in my kitchen, with white trim, and it looks much cooler to me, as it sit with your photos on my laptop screen, against my kitchen wall. Similar to how your flash turned it cool in your first photos.

Regardless, I really like RP, in your house AND mine. LOL.

as for pillows - maybe something terra cotta? isn't there a bit of orange in the big print?

I sampled RP in my kitchen also which is at the back of the house (LR is in front). The trim in my kitchen was already painted crisp white and I had begun painting the trim cream. There was a HUGE difference in how the RP looked against the white and the cream. I personally prefer it against cream as I think that it warms it up a bit.

I'm not sure whicgh direction the windows face - I thought I knew and then I broke out my kids compass and got a completely different direction. I could have sworn that it was NE but DS's compass said SE.

I'm not a lover of gray in a home(love it in clothing!),but your RP is gorgeous, sophisticated would be a good description.

As for a throw, how about a dark charcoal, or gray animal print(Z Gallerie/$50)? And for pillows, something in a print combining all your neutrals, *nothing* w/a color~IMO, it would take away the sophistication of the room. ;o)

Here's PARMA'S room which *I* find to be very similar to yours in style~is it? Anyway, I called her room 'sexy', but sophisticated would also apply.

I like the darker draperies, and think something like that would be beautiful in your room also. Do you have your heart set on the ivory? ;o)

Have you ever worked with BM's Pismo Dunes?

I'm thinking about that for my bedroom, which has chocolate and dusky blue bed linens. The blue has that holographic-iridescent look, where in one direction it appears to be almost taupe, and in the other a lighter blue. (The furniture is a mish-mash of flat-pack MDF junk that will be replaced as I come upon CL and other finds.)

The nearby bathroom is Ashley Gray. I read Pismo Dunes as a less saturated and slightly browner version of AG, but that's my very untrained eye speaking. All my trim is bright white. I adore dark trim but it just isn't meant to be here. :/

I have a really hard time getting pictures of my finished rooms to look how they really look because without the flash they sometimes look darker and more dreary than IRL.

Is this the same room you had painted Baby Turtle? I recognize that one corner! I'm thinking about Baby Turtle for my foyer and upstairs hall. I have stained trim too, and need a change from the taupe wallpaper I've had for 10 years!

Do you think that med. grey small lumbar pillows on the leather chairs would get 'lost'? I saw 2 on sale at JCP yesterday and almost got them but then thought that they might be too dark.

IKEA has some nice charcoal throws but I really think that I'd like to try my hand at sewing a few. I get what you mean about not adding a 'color' to the rm. and I agree. I have checked out grey curtains but I have this weird fanatical thing about all of my curtains matching if they can be seen from another rm.! Will check out Parma's sexy rm!

That's exactly how RP looks w/ my white trim! I have a sickness you know. A paint sickness. I admit that I have a sample of PD. In my house it got a bit too purpley for me. There's an excellent episode of Find Your Style where they did a rm. in Hot Spring Stones (1 up from PD) and the accent wall PD. The accent colors were Silver Sage. It was beautiful! I saved that episode for a very longtime.

There was also a woman who used to post here who did her bedroom exactly the way your thinking. Her sign on was Girlwithaspirin. Maybe you can do a google search and a pic will come up somewhere.

Yep - that's the rm. that was BT! It's such a small room that there are only so many angles that I can get pics of. I highly recommend BT!!!! Truly if I'd hadn't begun painting the rest of my downstairs such neutral but rich colors I would never have parted ways w/ BT but I just felt that it wasn't working w/ the whole overall concept that I was going w/ and that I really, really like alot.

I can't wait to post finished pics of the downstairs. And I mean finished pics! 3 more pairs of curtains to buy (3 more to glue pom-poms on too), get DH to hang the DR chandelier - and maybe, just maybe, if my decorating piggy bank has enough money - get my big black and white print for the hallway.

Eerie... Searched Girlwithaspirin and found a lot of similarities. Same geo area, divorce (in fact, her last post was the very day I notified my soon-to-be-ex that he was about to be just that) and very familiar decorating tastes. Her kitchen was one I'd bookmarked as inspiration for my recent renovation (I wanted blue walls originally.) I've not come up with the PD bedroom yet but I'm not done searching. Wonder where she got off to.

Glad to see these pics. I need to get off my hind end and start painting. I have a swatch of RP that I keep going back to for a bathroom. (White trim, cab like jacy's room.) Need to get that poster board out and do a big sample from the pot, I like what I see in both homes above!

So nice to see this thread. I too am getting ready to paint. I have Pismo Dunes and Mesa Verde Tan (darker one on same swatch) on my sample wall now. I thought I needed to give Revere Pewter a fighting chance too, since so many people rave about it. I think it has lost the battle in my house though. It looks very institutional in my house.

It looks like we are doing PD on most of the walls (kitchen and family room), except Mesa Verde Tan on one small wall as an accent, and at the end of our family room there is a fireplace (painted white like cabinets) that I am going to do in a really dark chocolate brown(no name, but BM 2107-10) which is what is in my dining room.

OK, ttodd, you're making me indecisive again, LOL! I've had a Pismo Dunes sample for the bathroom as well that I wanted to try. (Actually I hoped for a greige, but that won't fly for various reasons.) Have never seen PD on a wall (and those are gwa's walls in your Bedroom link, she's great with paint, I miss her!). That's really a very nice color as well.

beekeeperswife: both those colors look very nice to me! I like the way it looks with black here and there. You should post an after picture when it's all done!

Ttodd, thanks, those bed linens are exactly the same colors as mine (at least on the monitor) and I love how PD works with them. One decision down, thirty-seven left to go.

BK - love your kitchen and PD is going to be beautiful. That clock is to die for, and the chandy, too. It all looks so perfect together.
