For what it's worth, I have it in my master bedroom and bathroom, and I don't see blue. It is one of my all-time favorite paint colors.

i don't see even the faintest hint of blue in our revere pewter...not any, and i think i see color pretty well.

i have had the paint store make a mixup in paint before though... if it looks blueish, you might want to take it back to the store... i've even had the store mixup another customer's paint and mine...

I have Revere Pewter (love this color) throughout my home and not seeing any blue. I am not familiar with the "aura formula".

No blue here. But, it does have a green tone. The mix has green in it. We have it in our downstairs. Looks green sometimes, taupe either and then gray. Maybe that is what you're seeing. Apparently, it takes on colors around it. So, maybe that's it.

That's funny, I was just coming back to post that it is now looking green to me. Sort of like RH silver sage.

This is so disappointing. Revere Pewter looked like the perfect color based an all the photos I saw online. I need a greige that doesn't read blue or green. A warm, taupey gray, but definitely gray and not tan. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need to return it to the store and have them mix up a new one for you.

Try BM Waynesboro Taupe and Plymouth Rock. Plymouth Rock has more gray. Definitely no blue in either.

Depending on your lighting WT may look a dark. In our case, we don't get a lot of light in the rooms we plan to use it in. Just had a sample made yesterday at 25% to try. It's our top contender for a grayish brown taupe.

Does your room face north? The direction of the natural light can make a difference in paint color, too.

I have had that experience with Pismo Dunes, which I believe is a darker color on the same swatch. I started painting it in my family room, in one corner in the evening as the sun was setting it looked blue/purple. It was horrible, everyone else said I was crazy but I saw it. So I ditched that color for family room and put it in office, have never one seen the blue/purple tone in there.

As Chibimimi just said direction of natural light can do odd things!!!

Our house faces NE and we have several neighbors with blue exteriors. I'm going to head back to the paint store and look at the colors mentioned as well as pashmina and thunder.

You may want to try Waynesboro Taupe mixed to 50%. It's turned out to be the perfect color intensity for our home. We must of tested about 10 different samples before we took the one we liked the best and worked with it at 25% and 50%. Our LR, DR, and upstairs hall does not get a lot of light since we are in an interior townhouse.

olivesmom, I to have been trying and trying to FORCE gray on my walls, but with no success. Things I have learn about gray color paint. It does look very blue or violet with woodwork that is on the golden side. Mine is golden oak, and the sheen of the paint makes a difference. I have been told a flat sheen is best with grays. I have conceded to Tony Taupe SW-7038. Good Luck

I picked revere pewter as well...and am in a dilemma. Its definitely showing blue. I have huge south windows and its got a blue...but changes at night. I also tried the thunder...its a shade darker than revere pewter. I have thunder in our bedroom which has north facing windows. It was kind of bluey....but after it cured I saw more greens in it. I started painting thunder in our main floor (with the southfacing windows) and it was really blue...but I was too impatient and should have let it sit for a week. I think the Thunder would have been ok. Now I'm thinking of repainting what I have painted back to Thunder. arrrgghhhh!

How about Edgecomb Gray? I don't see any green in it.

I had SW March Wind put in every room. I didn't want to make a lot of different color choices. It Shows gray in all rooms. I haven't noticed it showing any blue, green etc.

After trying 12 different grays, we chose BM Ashley Gray. We have it throughout our house, and we love it. It's very chameleon like, changing from room to room depending on light and time of day.. The sample card/sheet can look a bit pink in some lights, but in our house it does not read pink at all. Give it a try!

PS: We tried Revere Pewter--it looked very "bluish battleship gray" on our walls--seem to be a very cool gray rather than a nice warm gray.

I tried B.M. Revere Pewter in my house - it did not look blue, but more like mud. B.M. Light Pewter looked OK during the day, but was dark, dreary, and depressing at night, with the recessed LED lighting. Painter had already bought the paint, so I compromised by cutting the Light Pewter by 50%. I think I should have stuck with my first choice - BM Classic Gray.

I have BM Edgecomb Grey in my powder room - it's a warm greige with a hint of purple - I like it in my bathroom but I prefer lighter colors in my larger rooms. I considered BM Wind's Breadth in my master bathroom, but decided on white instead. I have BM Gray Owl in my master bedroom - it's a chameleon color.

I always thought my BM RP pulled the faintest hint of green.

I have a corner cabinet in my kitchen that I painted RP and when I hung a wreath on it one year it was perfect. I decided then that the RP could lean ever so slightly green. Not super noticeable to me though.

Here is my partially finished new guest bath in Revere Pewter. Definitely no blue.

I bought a sample of RP and painted it on my southwest facing kitchen wall. It was looking blue as well.

Must be an issue with the south direction. I have it from east to west and definitely no blue. I do have some green undertones though.

I painted a spot in my family room - definitely blue and with my Kitchen painted in Oyster Bay that won't work. Painted a spot in my family room and it shows no blue in it at all! Anyone know a color that looks very similar to Revere Pewter but won't change a bluish tint in a north facing room?

All colors, not only grays will change depending on what is next to it, or the light that is hitting it. Too many variables to say why in one house it's looking blue and in another it's warmer.

I can tell you that even the light in northern climes is different than in the south. For example, when I went to paint my condo in FL five years ago, I figured let me use the same tan I had used in my living room in NY. In NY the color definitely had a yellow/brown cooler cast to it.

I bought a can, took it back to my condo and painted a sample on the walls and when it dried, I was horrified. Instead of having the cooler yellow/brown cast that it had in NY, it looked almost like a lighter coffee brown. Why? Because the light in FL is much warmer and it affected how the color looked.

If you want to try an experiment, try this with the squares below.

1. color in all six of the center small squares with the same color.

2. Next pick six different colors and color in each of the outer squares one of the six colors.

Now notice how the center square changes in how it looks depending on the color that is next to it.

I played for you. Each of the center grays is the exact same color. The only thing that is changed is the color surrounding the center gray.

I have the same problem. It definitely looks bluish in some rooms. The warm cream trim and bookshelves and warm tile floors now look and warmer dingy in comparison. Any suggestions for trim / bookshelf paint color or accent colored that might warm things up?

I thought is was going crazy too. My Revere Pewter looks icy blue- not at all what I wanted

BM hypnotic is IMO a greyer revere pewter. I had a revere pewter dining room and was either looking for slightly greyer (rp in my room looked much more taupe than grey) or a blue. I went with a blue but the hypnotic was super close to RP, but with a definite greyer cast.

This happened to me too! Painted poster boards and moved them around the room to make sure I loved the color before painting the entire living/dining room. I did everything I was supposed to, and after two coats it was BABY BLUE!!! I was so upset. But then I held up the paint chip white dove (OC-17) to our trim, and our trim was YELLOW!!! I'd bet your trim isn't white, but rather a yellow or darker cream. Here's a pic. Same color, revere pewter, different trim. The trim on the right is white dove. The trim on the left is old, yellowed oil based trim of unknown name.

Yep. It definitely looks blue gray in my guest bedroom. I hate it! Funny thing, I used the same color scheme with Revere Pewter in my guest bath, and it looks like a warm greige, almost beige. I should have gone with SW Accessible Beige in the bedroom.

I can also confirm that Revere Pewter looks like a very light icy blue color on my wall when I painted it. Looks extremely ugly.
