Step 'anything' should think twice

As an adult child of a ruthless stepmonster I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to become a "Step Anything". Why aggressively push yourself into a family that is probably just fine without you? Why disrespect any past mother/father in that family? What would be any person's motive coming into a potential "step" situation, except for "greed" on the part of the new "step person" because "greed" and "lust" and "pure selfishness" can only be the goal of any "stepperson" who is obviously only interested in their "intended" but usually have motives that are purely "evil". I can only hope that if my husband were to succumb before me, that I would never hurt my adult children the way that my stepmonster has hurt our family. She has disrespected our mentally challenged father, she has disrespected our mother's memory. She's a drug addicted, gold digging loser who I wish would return to the hell that is fashioned and waiting for her.

Gee, don't hold back, tell us what you really think.
As the adult child of a stepfather who had no ulterior motives and who was remarkably patient with me when I was an ungracious teenager, I am glad to have had a male role model in my life who was not the lying alcoholic my father was. It helped me to recognise and choose a good man to be my life partner. I was happy to care for my stepfather at the end of his life after my mother had passed away. Not all steps are evil.

Obviously 'Daddy' did not feel he was just 'fine' being left for the rest of his life with just you and/or your siblings. Short of hog tying your father up, and locking him into a closet...I don't think you get much say in whether or not your father decides to live the rest of his life alone and lonely or decides to begin a second chapter in his life.

Why seek out a stepparent forum and bash all 'steps' in general unless of course your motive here is to troll and giggle at any responses? Bored and trying to stir up a bit of entertainment? Surely as an adult you realize that while you may have been stuck with a stinker, not all 'steps' are anything like the new woman you described. Did you choose to come here and state your 'story' and seek support/advice, no, just popped in to smack all stepfamilies, all stepparents and wrap them up into one stereotyped package.

Hope you feel better now getting 'that' off your chest and/or at least got the thrill you were seeking.

I didn't misrepresent anything. The dealer was fine to come out this far to install the thing, but then won't come to service it. I think that's Miele's problem to fix, but we may disagree on it. Again, I didn't buy this off the internet and install it myself, I had a Miele authorized dealer install it at full price but when I need service I'm told I'm on my own. If you read my post, that's the point - service may be great in big city, but in small town it's certainly not and initially before a lot of argument on our part Miele would NOT talk with any non-authorized tech so we were caught in catch-22 (no authorized tech would come, but they will only speak with authorized tech...) If you think a tech making a drive is worth $100/hr, well then I guess you've got a lot more money than we do, but regardless they refused to come at all - they didn't even offer to come at $x/rate. At this point we've got a local tech coming tomorrow, hopefully with the "backordered" part for our "out of date" 2 year old dishwasher and will see what happens. I've yet to ask my wife if she spoke with the same number you're giving me, I know she spent at least 30-60 min arguing with Miele to get any help at all but I want to see if that's the number she called. Have been too busy with other life jobs to have that conversation but will try today before (independent local) tech comes tomorrow

It might have more to do with your husband's, uh, neediness?, devotion?, obsession?, than with something being wrong with you. You dated in college, got engaged, *broke up*. One thought that occurs is that, since he "followed" you, you equated it with true love. so you got married. didn't work, so you *divorced*. but he was still around, & after all he was your child's father, so you re-married, & now you have another child. & now you're thinking about *divorce*. Maybe you're together now because he's persistent & you (like so many of us) find it hard to say no. Maybe you need some time alone, maybe some counselling alone, to see your own direction more clearly. I wish you the best.

My 10 year old SS is also standoffish and shy and keeps to himself. He does this to everyone and has since he was 4 years old. That is his personality and that is your SS personality. As well my ss does have low self esteem issues and he does blow up at times as well. But he blows up at his mother and father. WHne he does run to his room screaming and crying its usually me who has to calm him down. I dont think you did anything wrong and asking your husband. It concerns you but i wouldn't let it bother you so much. THis is your SS personality. What i would do though is watch him closely for outbursts and be prepared. Its obvious he has anger issues towards his own mother. Not you or his father. Is he seeing a councilor after his outburst with his mother? Are you planning ot have children? As for him being more quiet...how about asking him for help in wedding plans. I got my Skids involved with suits, picking colors, picking flowers..chekcing on the internet for me. It turned out to be alot of fun and they felt their opinion counted. And it did cause they were part of my wedding and i wanted to know they'ld be happy with styles and colors they were going to wear. The thank you cards afterwards had all of us. My husband , me , his kids in a photo which i sent to 120 guests. And my SD speech at the wedding made the entire hall be in tears. So you know...there are days i'm angry at her but there will always be ups and downs in any relationship. This will happen with your SS and since you know he's the quiet shy type i wouldn't push him. I didn't push my ss and still dont. You cannto force any relationship and yes the ship has sailed but if he's told your husband to be that he likes you....then dont push anything more. Your husband should just reassure him that he's part of a new family now.

Is he eating now? If not, best to go to the vet. Can you text your cousin to let him/her know what's going on? When cats stop eating, they need to go to the vet very soon. Dogs can go a while not eating, but not cats.

At least this one of the multiple personalities can type coherently.
