Gee - I really like the chairs the color they are -- kind of a tomato, coral-y red? Looks great against the dusty aqua, IMO. Or is the fabric very worn and stained?

If you're concerned that the chairs don't match the spread and drapes, try looking for a pillow with aqua and a similar rich orangey red. Maybe have a tiny stripe of orangey red in your drapes?

it's actually more of a mauve-ish color and very worn. So, definetly needs recovering!

You have a nice brown/mauve thing going ... if you want to stay low-contrast, a print or stripe or plaid with the colors of the bedspread, drapes and wall could look good. heck, make slipcovers for them out of bed linens.

For the console - just toss a fabric cover over it for now to give it some visual weight. Draped buffets are trendy, and when the trend is over you can figure out what to do.

In that case, I'd suggest a rich coral or a vibrant orangey red for your chairs -- the color I thought they were! ;-)

And I really like the idea to drape your console. Maybe a tan-natural linen fabric with a print in aqua, coral and brown.

I would do the chairs in a color a bit darker than the drape color in a raw silk, nubby linen or chenile. Fabric.com, fabricguru, house of fabrics all have upholstery fabic.

Also, brown & aqua....made me think of Miley Cyrus's bedroom....her chairs are done in zebra print. I guess anything goes when you have great bones....

My suggestion is that when you're adding brown to the bottom of the curtains, make them long enough to raise the rods to the ceiling. I think they are making your room look "squatty" right now.

See...I'd pull the curtains off those windows entirely. I like the craftsman look of them...why hide 'em? Just go with the shades.

What a lovely, generously-sized bedroom! I love what you have done thus far for the most part. A reddish-paprika colored fabric would look great on the chairs. I love the metal (?) thing above the bed.

You didn't ask, but . . . the drapes are the one mis-step in the room. They are too short, and the one-panel per window look isn't working. Draperies tend to be the place where people try to scrimp, but in reality, they make or break the room.

I like the warmth and coziness that curtains add to the bedroom but I agree they are too short and skimpy. I can raise them and add length to the bottom but I have looked high and low for more of these panels and can't find them anywhere. How can I make them more full? Obviously by adding more material but how/what/where :)

Just going off what others have mentioned....

I agree with msjee.....I really like the look of just the romans on your windows. You could use your drapery material to make a tailored skirt for your console table. Not sure if it would be too much....but you could do a round skirted table on one side of the bed out of the drapery fabric, too. Maybe add some type of embellishment/trim.

I have never tried this but read about it here....painting the chairs?

Zebra would be cool at the end of the bed on a bench.

Second sweeby's suggestion of a nice coral red for the chairs similar to the way they look on the monitor.

For the drapes, remove the panels from the short windows and leave them with just the romans. Use the extra panels to double the thickness on the long windows with brown banding at the bottoms so as to raise the height of the drapes. Then have each panel span the width of the rod and swag it to each outer side with some brown or brown/aqua cording which you can purchase at a fabric store.
