I think you've got the right idea. A small high window sounds okay to me, or you could install a solar tube. I've tried to see what space you might have depending on the vanity depth you use. I've drawn a toilet centered 16 inches from the shower wall with a bowl 14 in in width (like mine). I've also indicated where you say your toilet sits in relation to your vanity now. It may be that you have to keep your toilet where it is now due to the shower being close by??? I've tried to indicate with color what a 12 inch deep vanity versus an 18 in vanity would be like and the distance between the toilet and vanity. A lot depends on where the toilet actually is and whether it can be moved a little. So right now with a 12 inch deep cabinet, your toilet would be 17 inches from the cabinet and with an 18 inch cabinet, it would be 11 inches. If your toilet can be moved closer to the shower, you would add 5 inches to each of those numbers. Maybe you could do a mock up to see how the access to the corner cabinet would feel if you do it like you originally planned. It would be nice not to have to move plumbing. I also like the idea of keeping a 21 inch deep vanity there with a counter over to the back toilet wall with 12 in deep cabinet on top of the counter facing the sink with it open underneath for a waste can.

kiki how high does the niche in the fireplace go up? I'm seeing a beautiful print or a huge mirror in there. I'm a mirror over the fireplace gal. I keep looking at that beautiful bright room and something is not right to me. I think the furniture placement is not showing off the architectural features of the room. Listen to me, sound like I know what I'm talking about, don't I? Not really. However, I do watch a lot of HGTV (I hear the hisses and boos now) and I do pay attention to what the good designers say about furniture placement. Can you post a photo of the entire room or if it's too big, the other side that we can't see from the photo you posted? I hope you don't mind that I want to rearrange your room. It's so pretty, I just want to play with your furniture and accessories. LOL I know there are others with a better eye than I that can chime in to assist me in my quest to rearrange the room so the fireplace and those magnificent windows are not blocked. You are right about the colors in the inspiration room rug pulling in all the colors of the room. Somehow I either overlooked it or didn't want to admit it. How does the saying go..."sometimes you don't see the forest because the trees are in the way"...haha... Anyway, I just fell in love with the stone medallion rug and was offered it for a great price because it was a return to a local place that makes them. It isn't the colors that I would have chosen, but I was trying to force it to work. It has no grout because it is made with a compouter controled water jet and all the pieces fit tightly together to form one big solid piece. It's really lovely, but you are right, the colors aren't the best for the design. I have changed original design a bit because I felt it was too Tuscan/Mediterranean for the house. I am using more rustic wood instead of so much cast concrete..though I am using the cast corbles that flank the radius ceiling. I wanted it to feel casual and rustic French, but with an elegant touch of "jewelry" that the crystal and possibly some glass tile accents would bring. The color swatch under the sink is such a bad representation of the vanity color! I attached a photo of a premade cabinet in a similar color and style to what I am having made. The wall color has not been determined yet. Any suggestions?! Thanks again! Your advice is really helping me see this from a different prespective. Did I mention I am a bit over my head with this project? This monster spec house has 10 bathrooms and not enough budget! I'll post some pictures as the project progresses.

I can do a dry wall return and plan to have the tile wrap to the window. The window is in its own little cove, so there is also a 6" deep ledge which I'm going to do with the quartzite (like the counters). Forgot to mention that I'm planning to do wood plantation shutters as well rather than blinds or curtains, and am thinking that white shutters on white trim is my only real option here...partly because the door to the bath is indeed framed in oak, and the window is straight ahead of the door so you would definitely see both stains at once if I trimmed the window with the dark cherry stain. The other thing is that the white will keep it bright, as the outside light is limited since faces north and large shade trees just outside.
