Could you please show a photo of the table you're planning to par them with? When you say a 'set' of chairs', how many is that? I ask because they are quite a look, and I can see two as head chairs, but I wonder about 4 or 6 of them around a table...

Here's the table. It looks a bit redder in the picture than it actually is. It's lighter and golder in person. I would only want to use 4 chairs around the table. I do hear what you're saying about them maybe being too much. Thanks!

I like the chairs very much, although your table is so magnificent that I see it with a bit more of a formal chair.

But, I also think Parson's chairs wouldn't 'stand up' to the beauty of the table.

Have you tried them for comfort? I ask because the seat does look comfy, but the back looks very straight.

I'm eclectic myself, and am wondering if you'd leave the chairs as is, or paint them before you had your seat covers and tie-on back cushions made? Do you have any fabric ideas? I play around with re-doing chairs, and I love the ones you're considering, but would try to get them for less than $75 each (if the set is 4 chairs). With the 'wings' on these, I would probably just recover the seat, rather than have a long skirted cover, so as not to compete with all that is going on at the top.

I bought two of these recently and paid $25.00 for the 2 of them.

I did this to them. so you can see what a different paint and fabric can make.

My3dogs, you did a gorgeous job with those chairs. I have been admiring your work for quite a while here. It must be so fulfilling to transform things the way you do!

I have decided to pass on the chairs. The room is small and I think it would just be too much with chairs that kind of call attention to themselves. The owner is asking $50 a piece for the chairs (there's a set of 6). I have no doubt they're good quality as they're from a very affluent area nearby. But I'm trying to change my ways and only buy things that are perfect for my needs (I have a garage full of "mistakes" I need to put on CL myself!). Thanks for your input.

Oh my WMA. I really think the chairs with the right fabric would look gorgeous. You really transformed that gorgeous table. I really love it. I agree with 3dogs that a parsons chair would not be the right fit. Maybe the seller would come down in price and you could sell the two chairs that you don't want. I would snap those chairs up in a New York minute. I am looking for chairs to go with my antique table.

This is the antique table that I need chairs for. I have two sets of 2 antique chairs that are not staying together. DH has glued and reglued but I suppose there is no fixing them.

I actually like the chairs because they are unusual...I don't think 4 chairs around that large table would be overpowering.
