If you need a ceiling fan, and I can sure understand why you do as I'd never do without one in our MBR, I say skip the chandy and just replace the fan with one that's large enough to cool your room and is in a style that works with your new furniture. Skip the lights on it, though, and just use lamps on your nightstands, dresser, and wherever to light your room. Bed: think about the fact that you'll probably have to replace the storage baskets under that one bed you like someday in the near future (they will get kicked and frayed, etc). Will you be able to find good, quality replacements that fit those cubbies then . . . and at a reasonable price? It's something I've thought about every time I look at those types of beds. When I pay for a piece of quality furniture, I don't want to worry about replacing parts of it in a few years, but that's just me. As for your bedding, I love your idea about using tan, cream and aqua. I like this type of coverlet. It's lightweight, so you can use it year-round and vary the accent pieces. This one I found on Kohls website and it's on sale at the moment. Then you can use an aqua print (or plain) coverlet folded at the foot of your bed until you need it. You can add matching shams and/or coordinating shams and bedskirt of you choose. Here's one idea, but there are many possibilities out there. "Linden Street Aqua bedding " Lynn

Okay, I'm back! First, let me thank you so much for all the ideas. You have no idea how much I appreciate them. I also would like to thank you for your patience if I'm a little slow catching on. I went out to Kirklands Home today to buy a couple things for the living room (another disaster area) and I met up with a teacher friend of mine. She's got the Summer off and her and her best friend said they love to decorate and we are planning to get together in a couple weeks. I'm so excited!! Anyway, I bought the coat rack and put it where the chair was and cleared out a few things. Maybe you can give me yet some more ideas on where to go with this? Thanks so much! ** UPDATE ** UPDATE ** So my couch came Saturday, here pictured with 2 pillows in the right fabric (it comes with 4, we got 4 in the wrong fabric plus two in the right fabric but no welt, so 4 right fabric with welt are on the way). And after 4 more trips to the paint store, and many more hours online and running in circles holding chips up, I think I have a winner! PPG Moth Gray, 515-4 I have some samples painted on the wall dryng as I type! It looks very beige on the screen, but it is a little cooler in person and seems to show as greige or gray depending on the light and angle like I've seen people describe Revere Pewter. I can't wait to see what it looks like with just lamps later! I really hope DH likes it too, he really wants a gray and this is cheating that quite a bit :-) Many, many thanks to all who took time to post to help me, it is -very- much appreciated. As soon as the couch was put in place, I could tell the gray would not work and wanted to go more beige, and knowing that was in line with general consensus here made me feel so much better.

Just saw this and haven't read all the comments in case I say the same thing. Love the chest especially nice in the entry. I would turn the mirror and push it to the left side even with the side of the chest, put a taller lamp to fill in on the right side and add a decorative bowl or container for keys, mail etc. It is a perfect place for a mirror to check hair and lipstick before leaving. I would not use the iron detail there and perhaps you could use one print on a stand on the chest. I agree with other suggestions of a rug and maybe something in the corner. Its a great looking chest and love the prints as well.
