If I remember correctly you would have to make 4 stitches for each one in order for it to be the correct size. If you just do two it would be wider but not taller. You may want to try this on a scrap to make sure. It's been a long time since I did this and I figured it out for myself. Good luck and I'd like to know what your results are. ;-) Nancy

It is a great house with so many little extras that you just won't see in most other homes. We know you have looked over the list of features. We would like to point out what it was that sold us on the house when we bought it that made it such a great value. The hardwood floors, 9 ft ceilings & skylights - really add tons of light especially when it seems like the sun will never come out, upgraded appliances, 2700+ square feet - feels huge compared to the rest, central air(!), and extra storage in garage are the features we appreciated (and miss) the most. These are the the things that will really hold their value for resale in the future if you were to move (at any other time than now). : ) Looking at our price/sq. foot we are much lower that most of the houses on the market and all the upgrades make it an extra value. We can't forget to mention that the neighbors are really great. The neighbors on either side have been so good to watch over the house and water the yard for us. If it were not for all of our family being here in the midwest, we could have seen our family live there very comfortably without outgrowing that house, and we have three children. I was trying to explain why we not willing to just take their offer, even though I was feeling desperate. I definitely wanted them to know what our house offered that the other did not without specifically dogging on the other house. After reading everyone's comments I am not sure I would do do it again. Although I would have appreciated receiving the little info on the neighbors and the things I may have overlooked. Even though I really think they knew our house was a better fit/buy but just wanted to rattle us into taking less. In the end they came up a bit and we came down. It's over and now we can finally work on building a new house in our new town/state.

I like to avoid using the post office whenever possible. Cards were never a big thing with me. I guess I agree with my dad when he said he liked when someone would write something on the cards. I figure the ones that send cards just for the sake of sending cards are doing it for themselves, not the recipients. Getting a printed card that says "Happy Thanksgiving" and nothing more, to me, why bother? If I don't hear from someone for a long time and they're contacting me, I feel they should either have a reason for the contact. If it's to just say hello, great, but why not just say it? A few lines on how they've been is appreciated. Seems like a waste of money, time for both of us, natural resources and landfill/recycling. Some want to count the cards they get. There's the obligation of "I sent a card so I'd better get one" and "I got a card, now I have to send one". To me they're GREETING cards, not obligation cards. Seems the whole intention of them has changed. I used to send cards during the holidays sometime when I wanted to keep in contact with distant relatives and friends with whom I have little contact. But unlike many, the older I get, the less I appreciate the card business. I know a lot of people like getting (and/or sending) cards. Gives me no thrill. I do intend to send one card this Christmas and that's to one of my surgeons and his staff who went so out of their way so many times to be helpful and because they cared. I want to let them know things are going well and their efforts and talents were appreciated.

Most people are well aware of the fact that a pedestrian has the right of way, but if parking lots were reconfigured to more effectively separate them, it would be less of an issue. You have to remember, also, that many drivers are looking at that traffic and pedestrians can get overlooked. It is also true that pedestrians have a responsibility to watch and acknowledge that the driver of the car knows that they are there. In a busy parking lot like the one at my local Costco it is like a game of chance for both pedestrian and driver to dodge one another, like some sort of perverse video game. I just cannot, for the life of me, understand why this is not a very prominent and important public safety issue or that a company with the deep pockets of Costco would allow this liability. I never approach the store through one of those avenues. There are other ways into the parking lot at the back where there is not a concentrated number of people pushing small mountains of groceries. It happened to me just the other day that I was at a stop sign leaving a parking lot. I was at a four way stop and looking for my turn to pull away when my husband warned me to stop. There was a small man in a little low motor chair who was about to cross in front of my car. He was small, low profiled and dressed all in dark colors and I really just did not see him at all. He blended in to the rest of the landscape like a tree trunk amongst the rest of the leafless tree trunks. Shudder!!! People do pull around in a parking lot at unsafe speeds, often. I go very slowly in a parking lot and also when backing out. Even with a back up camera you never know when a small child might run across or someone is speeding around the corner. People will criticize for this and say that I drive like an old person. Maybe that is true because life has taught me a few lessons in hubris and caution. Accidents happen and sometimes they are simply the chaos of the universe at work. To the poster talking about people parking their shopping carts in the middle of the aisle. Once, again, I am without fault in this. Now, don't laugh. (Well, Ok, maybe laugh a little bit. ). Seriously, if you find others at fault for this, try not to commit the same error. I really do try to be considerate and NOT do this. Some people seem to not give any thought to it at all. Still, even though I am clearly a superior person who does not speed in parking lots or block the store aisle there are times when things happen, as I almost overlooked that small man in the motor chair. And, of course, I am NOT a superior person and not without fault. Just kidding.
