Every time I walk into Anthropologie, I'm drawn to the section that's full of letters. I especially love the fabric-covered ones, and I have daydreams about covering a wall in words and initials.
I believe txranchgirl has something like that in her house and yesterday I went in search of that picture for inspiration. I couldn't find it, but I did find a lot of other great rooms that use letters as a part of the decor:

I love the letters in this NYC apartment - especially the shocking pink one. What a great accent color.

Sometimes literal is best. This room is large enough that it begs for some delineation - and it gets it, thanks to descriptive letters.
There's so much that's cool about this chalkboard border that I'm not quite sure where to start. I love the actual look of it, first of all, but I also like the way it contrasts with the traditional interior, and the fact that it can constantly change.
This chalkboard is a little more traditional, but still proves that even ephemeral letters have an important place in decor.
I can't get enough of this Graham & Browne wallpaper. I'm sure I'd end up actually copying favorite book passages in some of the frames.
