HELP! Exterior House Colors Desperately Needed

HELP! We now have 27 sample colors on the outside of our house. I am clueless! Can anyone out there give me any ideas? We have had Sherwin Williams Cedar stain on it for 25 years. The roof is CertainTeed Landmark Burnt Sienna, and the windows are Anderson, in that terratone color from 25 years ago. We live in the woods, so we don't have to coordinate with neighboring house color schemes. I am ready for something fantastic! Any ideas would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! (Also, if someone would explain to me how to post a picture of my house, that would be great, too!)

I'm honestly trying to be helpful when I ask this, but how can anyone suggest colors without seeing your house? Can you please post pictures? People want to help and you'll get the best, most helpful responses if you do.

What a cute house! Look at craftsman color brochures from the paint store. Think about something that you love in nature and what the colors are. (eg if a certain type of tree, what is the color/shade of the bark, leaves, flowers, if a place what are the colors of the major features). Look at books and other houses that you like. Take your time deciding if you are like me you'll change your mind a few times. I don't know anything about T1-11. Figureout what paint is best especially for coverage of a dark color. good luck, and post a pic again. (I also recommend buying quarts and slapping the colors on the house where you can look at all 2 or 3 in one area, its an expense, but better than having gallons that aren't right like I did, lol) kathy

I think a light grey would look very smart - white trim. Be sure to paint the garage door the same color as the house to help it disappear.

I'm getting a new roof (thanks, hail!) and would love to part with the hideous brown shingles and exterior (see below). I'm looking for a good roof + exterior paint combo that fits a mid century vibe (the home was built in 1950 and has a very mid century vibe inside that I've kept original). The outside is not so mid century? But I want the house to be cohesive. The colors I use on the inside are predominantly charcoal gray, teal, aqua, white and yellow (if that matters). Your light gray colors are the wrong tone. the ones you have listed lean a little pink/taupe. your stone is more tan/golden. if you go w/something too light, it's going to look washed out. these are the tones of your stone. This evergreen fog color would look great w/your shake and the stone. I love this color on your garage doors (so some other sage green color) if you want light, try the neutral ground on the siding w/the tan shade on the trim. or vice versa. darker grays that have that green/brown undertone. all of these pair well w/the stone. I love the black w/the wood idea. Iron Ore or Wrought Iron. no cedar shake, but this has the stone facade w/the dark colors and trim so you get an idea. Your cedar would actually lend a lot of warmth to the party. if you want a little warmer, what about these? (Copper Mountain on the front door) Caramelized on the trim, the bronze on the siding. Urbane Bronze is another nice color for the siding. either of the two light ones for the trim/garage door,,,Cajun for the front door. Any of these Protege Bronze, Urbane Bronze, Nettle or Nocturne will give that dark shade, but since they all have brown undertones, will work well w/the stone and the cedar. Some other neutral tones.

So everything is in shades of brown and you are in the woods and you want to be seen? How about a dark, dark red stain? Cabot has some nice ones. Or maybe a dark hunter green and you would blend right in. White would really stick out. It's nice to blend in. I don't know where you are but maybe add a nice red Japanese maple out front.
