Source for high-quality cotton, machine-wash comforter sets?

I had a comforter by Thomasville that was pretty to look at, machine-washable and so well-made/tough that it lasted for years, though multiple Golden Retrievers in bed :) But the best thing was that it was cotton, with the crisp-sheet feel and smell that I love.

Now Thomasville is out of business, the pattern is long-gone (there are a few matching pieces on eBay but no comforters) and I'm having a terrible time finding a replacement. Everything I'm seeing is either dry-clean-only, polyester and so "slippery" it slides off the bed, or cheaply made.

I'm a tailored person when it comes to decor (bedroom furniture is traditional mahogany/walls are a deep, dark blue, trim is white), but for some reason I prefer bright, crisp floral designs when it comes to bedding.

I've been keeping an eye on HomeGoods, TJMaxx and Penneys, but no luck so far. Any other good sources that I'm missing?

Thanks!!
