Color experts, Rever Pewter Smokey Blue, and..Grey Owl??
Comments (4)mtnrd...lol I am not either, but I will take opinions from absolutely anybody that will listen to me! My husband is not one of them anymore ;-/ joanieponie thanks, I am looking for a light color for this room, it is on the dark side of our house and doesn't get much light. Plus a color to possibly make the 2 Ive chosen make a little more sense together. My painter says it looks like an ode to the Dallas Cowboys...eeeek!! As an Eagles fan I was especially concerned! I remember looking at raccoon hollow & its medium/dark taupe I think. Does look nice next to Revere Pewter though!...See MoreBM Revere Pewter....I love this color! (Pics)
Comments (21)Thanks Lisa, and everyone else who complimented the color! I've tried BM Duxbury Gray, BM Gray Owl and BM Fieldstone and none worked quite the way I wanted in the last few months. So I understand the frustration of seeing a color look great in someone else's home but not work in your own. I ended up mixing the Gray Owl and Fieldstone and came up with a color that I really like. It is my second choice for the family room along with Revere Pewter. I'm going to start a new thread for that so please stop by and take a look. DH said this B&B wainscot was the easiest project I've given him yet and the cheapest. We did picture frame wainscoting in the study and dining room earlier this year and added a coffered ceiling to the dining room. You can see a hint of each in the photos above. The wainscoting for the stairs is made of 1 sheet of 1/2" MDF cut into 3 inch width's. The entire project, w/o paint, cost $30. I was at work when he did it (I supervise too much) and he said once he figured out the correct angles that the sawing and nailing part only took a couple of hours....See MoreNeed vanity color to go with Ben Moore Revere Pewter walls
Comments (7)That changes my suggestion, yes…. Thinking you have a lot of the same (I have Revere Pewter on my walls and ! I have your floor tile in a bathroom). What I have found to be the perfect accent color to all the taupes and whites is black…I bought two new spool chairs in black…I added two end tables in an Annie Chalk black paint on either side of my white English arm sofa, with white lamps, and have a wall collage of antique botanical ferns that I reframed in black. But, not any black…B.M Midnight 2131-40. That is what I would paint the vanity. As for hardware, in a bathroom, I like chrome finish…bright and clean, but that is your choice. Otherwise, brushed stainless is my choice. One word of warning, sometimes brushed nickel can look pink, or sometimes a grungy yellow tone. Not my favorite....See MoreHelp with foyer paint color to complement Revere Pewter
Comments (14)When it comes to transition areas, it's often a good idea to go with a neutral as they are more versatile. Transitional areas like entryway/hallways can have SO many colours going off of them, and choosing a 'colour' for this area, can limit you in other rooms. Personally, I would go for the soft, simple approach of Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray :). https://www.kylieminteriors.ca/colour-review-edgecomb-gray-benjamin-moore/ Also check out Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray which is GORGEOUS, but if this area is as low-light as it looks, you may want to lighten it by 25%! https://www.kylieminteriors.ca/paint-colour-review-benjamin-moore-stonington-gray-hc-170/...See Morenamarie
