Revere Pewter walls....what color ceiling
Comments (10)I had, and have, no pink anywhere, either. The colors in that library were all greens and terracottas and sisal and medium and dark toned woods...so the important thing was to keep it very peachy. The effect was to warm the neutrality of the gray. If you were to choose a blue, you might find the effect colder than you like. If you wanted to stay with the warm idea, but are a little put off by the pink idea, there's also a nice color adjacent to Melon Tint called French Vanilla (SW 7118) that is a little yellower, but still peachy. Whatever you decide, try to make sure you are choosing a tone that is light reflective rather than light absorbing...and be sure to look at your sample board -- you will make a sample board, won't you... :>) -- in the plane in which it will live...that is, stuck to the ceiling beside the trim. You want to avoid what my DH calls the V.A. Hospital effect, when a soft neutral appears in an unhelpful light condition. End of lecture!...See MoreDoes BM Classic Gray go with Revere Pewter?
Comments (8)I'm not a fan of darkening a paint colour but lightening is never a problem. You might get lucky like Jan and it works out. But you don't know what you're going to get until you have the custom, brand new color mixed and can look at. At which point you own the paint. If you can afford to buy sample after sample and/or have the time to stand at the counter while the mixer person goes back and forth umpteen million times tweaking the color, then great, try cutting as many paint colors as you want to. But there's a better way to find a lighter version of a paint color. For example, here's the solution for a lighter version of Agreeable Gray and an example of what you get if you do cut its formula. https://youtu.be/uNxcWC-6lvU...See MoreSimply white and revere pewter
Comments (5)The stain on the maple is called colonial (by our cabinet designer). We will be doing rustic white oak flooring (clear coated) and also have wormy chestnut on the wet bar top. Our cabinets will be 9ft high and lots of them plus the kitchen will be open to the living room (and i'd like to paint that revere pewter with simply white trim), both the kitchen and living room have cathedral ceilings with wood beams at the top...here are a few pics of the warm woods and and countertops.... again- we get a ton of light! thanks so much! revere pewter behind, simply white wood, maple sample and hard marble flooring (pic from old house) .... wormy chestnut bar (pic from old house- ignore the cabinet color)...See MorePaint color confusion BM Revere Pewter SW Colonnade Grey
Comments (4)A mini buffet of possibilities. No way to know if the Lowe's version of the colors is accurate without measuring them - could be spot on, might be miles off. Existing wall color is strong. It's going to influence how you're seeing new swatches If it's just one coat, it's not enough. Need two coats for proper film thickness thus color rendering. Yes, it could be the light and other stuff too. Colors influence each other. The color relationship of anything "orange" in nearby context of lower chroma, near neutral colors, like Revere Pewter and Colonnade Gray, from this hue family can make them look blue/purple/purple-blue. Home brand BenM and SW versions of Revere Pewter and Colonnade Gray are nearly identical. Biggest difference is Chroma: Colonnade is slightly less colorful, more gray than Revere Pewter - most people would probably not even notice a difference....See MoreJo B
