selling to brother-in-law

My husband is insisting that we sell our property to his brother.

Of course, we are going to sell it anyway, but his brother has been behaving in a way that, if he were a normal buyer, would make me walk away from the deal. We have already waited 3 months for the brother to sell his house; and when he did, he promptly backed out of our deal and a week later wanted the deal on again! Maybe to try and lower the price?

Up until now it has all been verbal agreements, but now we need to sign a purchase and sale agreement so the brother can get financing. My husband and I (who normally never fight) have been arguing for 4 days now. I don't want to sign a document which makes me so angry.

I'm thinking of signing my interest in the property over to my husband with a quitclaim deed and letting him do what he wants without me having to be involved.

Anyone else here ever sell to family members?

Margaret
