Anybody have a built in soap dispenser in their vanity top??
Comments (14)pattis: Thanks for the compliment. We wanted a warm color on our walls because our bathroom is on the north side of the house....very cold in the winter. Our 10 year old granddaughter spent the night this weekend and she only uses the master bathroom because we are in the midst of diy-ing the other bathroom. Anyway, I realized after she left that the sink was clean...There weren't any drops of hand soap on the sink or counter. With the previous soap dispenser, there was always soap in the sink after the grandkids used it....See MoreRemodel of Awkward Master Ensuite Bathroom - Help with Shower&Vanity
Comments (3)Unless I am missing something a townhouse is an attached home and not stacked on top of other homes. It is not generally considered to be a multifamily dwelling - i.e. having multiple units within four exterior walls with shared plumbing stacks. Therefore plumbing lines aren't shared and bathroom and kitchen models are generally constrained in the same way detached homes or semi-attached homes are - i.e. most people for budgetary reasons keep toilets in same place and try to avoid major changes in pipes and drains. FWIW, I am in a high rise condo and converted my tub/shower combo to a larger walk in shower that followed the footprint of the original tub....See MorePlease Critique Ensuite Master Bath Design
Comments (32)Great job ladies! I have been thinking about this all day, especially what you said about liking the old bathroom. I love it, as well except for the down falls I mentioned before -- not a true en suite, lots of wasted space and the issues with the step up. So with that in mind and all of your great ideas, I thought about how to recreate the original spaciousness getting all that we want with the exception of the office space, Also, the ceiling lines are really beautiful so I tried to maintain a square. I decided that I did not care if the closet was in the master bath. I also wanted to move the toilet from the sight line of the entry from the bedroom because I thought it seemed like a big box in the corner. With the shower, I figure it will be all glass so not as intrusive. I tried to get my linen closet, in the one option but it sacrifices large closet space before the bath for two smaller "closets" in the master (2 x 2) . I think it will be fine as we have a huge armoire in the bedroom, we will have the other closet in the master and this is a vacation home. We will likely never have huge amounts of clothing there....at least until retirement. Instead of the closet plus small dresser on the wall with the small window, I included one long dresser as I did not want to block light from the window. Comments (5)Thanks! I'm in the Chicago area - I do have someone who has done other work for me and would do this (again pending material and his time availability)! He indicated that tile would be no problem, but the vanity would be a potential issue. Thinking I could go with something like the above 66" vanity and build out the right wall section and possibly put some decorative/recessed shelving there. Thoughts??? Unfortunately I suffer from analysis/paralysis and it takes something like this to force me into action. After 2+ years planning my kitchen, it was the breakdown of several appliances that forced me 9+ years ago to redo my kitchen. For my basement, it was my teenage daughter and husband complaining that we only had the kids here for a couple years and had to do it (and that was really short-fused to force me). Timing was perfect given the pandemic the following year. So - this may be just the right trigger to get me moving. My master bathroom and deck would be next :)....See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
