ooohhhh! I love that table! Sure you need to paint it? It looks very nice as is. I know your inspiration is cream but the way it is will be just as versatile and will look better with your new white curtains than ivory will, IMO.

The curtains look lovely. You and your DM did a fantasstic job. Now can you come and put up a rod at my house? That is a very pretty table, though it's still a lot to pay for a table you'd have to paint to get the look you want. I'd shop around a bit more first.

dlm2000 - The only reason I would need to paint it is because I'm thinking about going with more of an aqua blue as an accent and the table is green. I would love to not have to paint it. It has kind of an antique finish with the edges sanded and I doubt I could duplicate it.

valinsv - No more curtain rods for me :) If I hadn't had my mother here to help, they probably wouldn't be hanging right now.

Love the curtains! Love the table too but just food for thought, that style of the pedestal may prohibit chairs from being pushed in under the table all the way. Charlikin just had a post about a table with legs in a X like that and that's the issue she ran into.

Five yards of fabric will work for a tablecloth if the fabric has no pattern to match, a solid or a stripe for example. That is unless you plan on binding the hem, sometimes easier than hemming in the round.

You could go with the color of aqua as an accent mixed with the green of the table. Much of the artwork you like and have posted seems to have both colors.

LOVE that table!!!

A 30 inch diameter table is pretty small for a dining room table and if you are thinking a floor length table cloth the color of the base would not matter. Or am I missing something here?

The table is 48" x 30 high, so a floor length cloth would need to be 108" in diameter.

Sorry, some of my questions relate to my last post and they weren't clear here. Plus, I have so many projects and ideas going right now that they're all kind of running together. I'm planning to put a fabric covered table next to my sofas and that will be 24x30. I won't be covering the dining room table.

aktillery - That would be great if the green worked and I didn't have to paint it. I'll have to go back to Pier One and look at the table and chairs to see how far up the chairs go.

clt3 - The fabric is a print. Would you get 5.25 yards in that case?

I really like that table. You could paint it but:

A: What a pain to do especially when you've just shelled out $300.

B: I really like the base green!

msrose, glad to see the 30 inch table is not for your dining room! I think you have to check the repeat of your chosen fabric to see how much extra you would need to match the design.

oh man, I didn't realize you were going to use the table in the living room, sorry. It will look so lovely. Love that fabric!

lukkiirish - No, you were right the first time. The green table above would be for the dining room, so I do need to make sure the chairs fit under it. I'm going to buy one of these for an end table and cover it with fabric. That's what I get for talking about two different tables in one post.

I love the mirror over your fireplace (adds light and sparkle), your new furniture is so warm and inviting, and the fabric swatch posted will bring in some nice accent colors. Keep it up! OMG, your fabric is so similar to the pillows I just received from PB. The two would be perfect together. Here's a link to the pillows, they're more of a creamy beige background than white irl. I have these pillows up against some brown and beige check ones and I'm liking the look.

Table is beautiful as it is and I am relieved that you aren't covering it up with a table cloth.

I love that fabric! I've been considering it for a duvet for some time now. :) 5 1/4 yards is the correct amount to buy for that fabric to make a round, hemmed, floor length tablecloth. Depending on how it's cut, you should have enough waste leftover for a pillow.

charley - That would be gorgeous for a duvet. I don't know if it's still on sale this week, but it was half off :)

Thanks msrose. I found the fabric elsewhere cheaper--not sure about it for my room though, it may be too blue. Still waiting for my swatches.

I like #3.

Also, I copied and pasted the sofa, fabric swatch, and the dining table together into a Word document. The fabric appears to have some hints of green in it, so it appears to me that the table would not need to be painted. So, I recommend that you do not paint until the table cloth is made so that you can see them all together. (I am assuming that you will be able to see from the dining area the table with tablecloth in the living area.)

I agree with ttodd, the table color is too pretty to paint.

charley - I haven't bought the fabric yet. Where did you find it cheaper?

Pier I has a similar chair for only $49, but it's not in a good fabric. Too bad about that.

Laurie, the 49.95 is for the slip cover only at Pier One. The chair it fits on is called the Dana Parsons Chair and it costs 99.95. So the total cost for each chair if you found a slip cover you liked would be 150.00. Does the price of the chair at Carrington Court look better now? :-)
