Well, right off, I don't think you can force a 19 year old to do anything they don't want to. The only way you possibly could, would be to have her declared incompetant, and yourself appointed as guardian. I don't think it's going to happen. Your daughter is still quite young (even though legally an adult, her brain is only working on an emotional, not logical level at that age), so you're going to have to tread very carefully here. She's been damaged. I do hope you've show your outrage and support of her by suing that dr--what he did was absolutely inexcusable and wrong, to do that to a 15 year old with no warning--I realize HE felt he was performing a medical test, but to a 15 year old, it was a lot more like a rape--as I know you know. I also hope you got her appropriate counselling at the time. But that's a different question. Now? You need to gently help your daughter learn how adults handle things. An adult has the responsibility of taking care of themself. An adult has the right to choose their own dr, has the responsibility of demanding respectful treatment. Have you tried suggesting she go to a woman gynocologist or GP? And that she sit down with the woman and discuss her past history, her fears, and ask that she be fully informed before, during and after any kind of test, examination or procedure. You're going to have to hold your temper and fear in check, because your daughter has quite obviously been traumatized, and it's going to take time and care to get her past it. I would highly recommend against you committing a crime and lying to obtain meds for your daughter. However, you could sit down with your dr. and honestly discuss the situation and get his advice on handling it. That actually would be a good place to start. Really, though, if you can somehow convince her to see a woman dr. or nurse-practitioner, I think it will help her get past her fears, and develop a bit more confidence--but it won't happen overnight. YOU MUST FOLLOW THESE STEPS EXACTLY. 1. Put her to bed as using normal bed time routine. 2. When she gets up out of bed, tell her, "No, it's bed time", and put her back to bed. 3. When she gets up, tell her "Bed time" put her back to bed. 4. When she gets up...just put her back to bed. Repeat step 4 until she goes to sleep. SHE WILL GO TO SLEEP EVENTUALLY. You may have to repeat step 4 for a couple of hours. Do not let her wear you down or it will take even longer. Here is where you have to be more stubborn than her. You see, what she has learned in that short period of time is that "If I make a big enough fuss, Mom and Dad will give in to me, I will get my way". To show you that this will work, keep a journal. On night #1 write down what time you started, make a tick mark for every time you put him back to bed, and write down the time she fell asleep. Repeat nightly until you can just put her to bed and she stays there (remember, it doesn't matter if she falls asleep right away, really it matters that she stays in bed quietly, she can talk and sing to herself as much as she wants until she falls asleep..no books or movies, just her and her favorite sleeping toy). The reason to do this is when you're frustrated on day 3 or 4, you will see that it really is taking less time than it did on day one. Usually by day 3 or 4 they are good to go, but it may take 2 weeks..but it is only 2 weeks then you will have her sleeping fine!!! Serioulsly 2 weeks MAX!!! Vickey-MN

There're 3 unreasonable & obnoxious things going on here, & 1 of them is downright scary. #1: Your house rules say that once a child moves out, that child has well & truly moved out. However, the rule is being applied to only one. Yours. #2 You missed an opportunity to stand up to him when he ran your daughter off. (Can you imagine how your daughter feels?) #3 Your husband ran *your* daughter off, & now you're taking a back seat to *his* daughter & whatever she dishes out, & your husband is mad at you for being unhappy about it *& he isn't backing you up, & he isn't listening to you, & he is not acting like a partner*. The first thing an abuser does is isolate a victim from family & friends. You no longer have your own daughter living with you, & you're under the control of this man & his daughter. Your husband is the only one who can change things, & he's happy with everything but your "complaints". Women believe words, & men believe actions. If the situation is intolerable, you have to make it *his* problem rather than just objecting, no matter how well-founded your objections are. I my own self would change the locks & file for divorce, but I don't know your financial situation. If you cannot bring yourself to do that, you might just disengage- no meals, no laundry, no cleaning, no keeping either of them company. leave the house every week-end. I wish you the best.
