When did your baby's eyes change color?

I can't remember when Grant's eyes turned brown (he was born with greyish/blue eyes). I'm trying to figure out if Camryn's eyes will stay blue. Her eyes were dark greyish blue (like in the outer rim of her eyes now) but are turning light crystal blue. I think they'll stay.

Do you remember when eye color typically changes?

My oldest was about 2 1/2 when his blue eyes turned green. Ds #2 has always been blue, but they got darker blue around 2 1/2. Dd had greyish eyes that are now greyish green. There was never a noticeable change in her eye color.

John's eyes were brown by day three! Jim's were a dark blue-grey-brown until he was almost three. Then they decided on brown.

Thoughts from an older mother: I think mothers today are making a bit of a mistake in not giving their babies enough "tummy time' ( as is it called today). What seems to me to be the lateness at which babies are rolling over "from front to back" as recorded on-line, is due to this. Having raised four children, now aged mid-teen to 30, before the "no tummy sleeping" rule, I think this new rule is the reason. My first grandchild just rolled from tummy to back at 3 weeks... and although this is very early for any era, the muscular development needed to do this is not going to happen as easily for the baby if babies are always on their backs. Reason: neck, shoulder, and arm muscles cannot get the best workout, which babies like and need to do (There is not a lot else they can do physically in their first weeks after all (when not sleeping and eating). And getting that kind of exercise is much harder for them if they are always on their backs! Perhaps the babies who do not like being on their tummies later might have liked it more if they had spent more time in that position earlier..which babies of only a generation ago did.... In conversations with other new grandmothers we are reaching the conclusion that time constantly on one's back delays the development of these muscle groups... In fact babies will be able to safely hold their heads up much sooner is they spend more time on their tummies from the beginning. So, my suggestion, when you are not feeding or changing, talking or singing to that darling baby, put him on his tummy! (Just make sure, following todays rules, that if he goes to sleep you roll him over to his back before leaving him alone!) This are just my thoughts, however, and there is no reason this matters in a big way. And certainly there are advantages to a baby who doesn't roll over, as once they can go front-to-back, and then back-to-front, they can roll off of things, as well as right across the floor! (which my eldest did withing an hour of first back-to-front roll---then pulled something heavy, which happened to be dangling from a table (10 feet away from starting position) right on to his head!) Oh the things we learn from our first children!! ( Ended up with two degrees from Ivy League schools, despite me!)

Difficult to tell for sure. Ive got about 12 baby blue and 2 baby blue eyes, all about that size at present. Of my trees (ymmv), the baby blue are definitely more blue while the baby blue eyes are more silvery (like yours). Ignoring the color, my BBE appear to have that form/branching style. .The best way to tell, however, may be how much you paid. The baby blue tend to be about half the price (or less) of the baby blue eyes, at least here in Ohio (where conifers seem to be noticeably cheaper compared to whenever I see prices mentioned from other parts of country on here). Id say if you paid (full price) $70 or more it is prob BBE. $60 or less, probably BB. I got most of my BB on special (they just picked the worst looking ones and marked em down to 10). I like em both and looking forward to seeing variations in the seed grown BB. The BB are also supposed to be narrower which I like.

DVolet1 - now you understand - that with all the damage - you got a good size very healthy plant with some leaves missing. It recovered fabulously. Sometimes it looks like somewhere in USPS system the box was run over, kicked up and thrown against the wall 10 times. SO packing should be done in a way that the plant so wedged - that it cannot move. The bigger the plant - the more chances it will break something when they play soccer with a box - but it will survive and flourish in good hands. Kudos to you!

No children but my mother sang to us and encouraged us to sing-to keep us occupied. We would be put to bed at night early and allowed to pass the time singing and telling stories. We sang all the time and never rode anywhere in the car without singing songs. some pretty ballads and some just long and silly. As a family we had good voices. I grew up singing and continued to sing ballads and with a couple of friends we sang at weddings. It was fun. My voice is pretty much gone but it is nice memories-because my crazy mother had us sing.

mine were blue until I was in elementary school. now they are green.

My husband is Thai (Asian) and I am white, so when our daughter was born with deep blue eyes and Obvious Asian features, I hoped my daughters eyes wouldn't change! Although I knew it would happen, thankfully she was about 1 1/2 - 2 years old when her eyes changed. She is almost 4 and her eyes are now a blueish/greenish/brown, so they are probably still in the middle of changing, probably to brown.

A side note: When our was born, because I am so pale and Obviously white and my daughter is so dark and Obviously Asian, people thought she was adopted :) And they wanted to know where we adopted her from, because of her Asian features and pretty blue eyes - LOL :)

I don't think they'll change. She's old enough that I think this is the color they'll be. I have 8 grands and 7 of them have blue eyes.

Three of my kids still have blue eyes. DS#2 was born with blue-gray eyes, but they turned green in the first few months. The blue-eyed ones aren't constant, their shades of blue have been changing slowly all the time. DD's used to be almost saphire, now they are pale blue. Mine were very blue as a child, but changed to greenish-hazel as a teen. Although blue eyes are common on my side, there are none on DH's side. And even on my side, blue eyed children grow into green eyed adults. So I rather expect my blue eyed kids to change in their teens, too.

Only one of my four turned out to be brown-eyed (and all have the same brown-eyed Dad) His didn't start turning brown till he was a year old....it actually came as a surprise since the previous two children had been blue-eyed ones....The 4th child was (and still is...) another blue-eyed one. I think it's too early to declare Camryn either one yet...

My son had eyes almost the same blue as Camryn. Everyone said they would never change. At almost 1 year they changed to a chocolate brown and it seemed like it happened fast.
My second son had blue eyes that turned green at about 2, and the youngest stayed blue.

DD#1 started changing about 6 months, went to a DEEP purple, Liz had nothing on her...then went to my grey green, DARN!!. Don't remember when DS's changed. DD#2 was born with DH's sh1t brown eyes and they've stayed that color (they're beautiful, also call them cow eyes...long thick lashes, beautiful, even if she doesn't think so)

Give it a few more years...for both kids, then you will know their forever eye color.

I can't remember when they changed. My daughter had such pretty grey eyes, and then they turned brown (still pretty).
