Requesting Prayer

Hi Everyone:

I've been super busy the last few months & haven't posted here a lot; I have been lurking as much as I can.

I'm requesting prayers for a doctor's appt. tomorrow morning. I went last Mon. for the follow-up with my surgeon from the breast lump last fall. She had an ultrasound performed in her office last week. After she reviewed it, she asked me to come back in a couple of weeks for another follow-up. I asked for the next avail. appt. This ultrasound did show something. She believes it's a complex cyst & the appt. tomorrow is to perform an ultrasound-guided aspiration. She says it's tiny & she believes it to be a completely separated thing from the area that my ob/gyn was concerned about. She still doesn't see or feel a problem with that area. She says this is so tiny that it my not have been there when the mammogram & other ultrasound were performed or that it was so tiny then that it wasn't picked up. She believes it to be a cyst because she says it appears to have smooth edges. My reading is that a complex cyst is more likely to have some sort of malignant component. Obviously I'm getting more worried about this. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Several years ago, I went through almost the same thing. I honestly thought I had a brain tumor and was praying that it was benign. Finally had a firm diagnosis of sinus infection and began the rounds of various antibiotics, anti-inflamatories and whatever that stuff is that's supposed to make your nose run. It still took about three weeks to see -and feel- any improvement, and almost three months before the doc declared me well. I know it's hard to believe now, but he will feel better soon. And it's good that it's sinus and not anything worse. Sending fresh sunflowers, and tissues.

thanks again everyone...really!! tj, my son is working and seems to be doing ok. The problem is, he probably wouldn't tell me IF he didn't feel good w/the fear of having to go back in hosp or back on meds. I know he's been off of his meds. and I'm thrilled, and God willing everything will turn out great on this visit...I just totally panic everytime we do bloodwork. I also know that prayer is powerful, I totally believe the only reason my son survived this was because of prayer. We were told he would not make it, but I knew he would. Hi folks! Thanks so much for all the prayers and good thoughts.Mom and Allison are both home now and getting use to each other.And boy is Allison lucky,she's got the greatest dad in the world. Allison was born 6/17/08 she weighed 7'12 and was 20 inches long. She decided to let go of some poop before coming out and when the dr. did a cbc they found trace of infection so she had a week of antibiotics. Once again thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

I can't offer you any info, but I most certainly can pray for you. I pray that all turns out well, that you have your answer as soon as possible, and that He calms your anxieties through it all.

I had a breast biopsy 30+ years ago. The doctor removed several cysts but I don't know whether they were complex. I will hold good thoughts for you.

I've had many cysts which required aspiration, and it sounds much worse than it is. The needle is extremely fine and there really isn't what I call PAIN ... just some pressure and a bit of discomfort. Let's put it this way .... after all the natural concerns that come with having the first one done, I never ever put off going in for another aspiration so that tells you it really didn't hurt me! LOL! My cysts were the fluid-filled type and looked like 'black holes' on the mammogram charts and ultra sound screen. I was always compelled to watch the screen while the technician was doing the ultrasounds, so I could recognize them again.

Prayers going out that your cysts are non-threatening and that the aspiration goes well for you!

Sending good thoughts. my mom has had cysts removed fairly regularly. She HATES anything related to "female MD visits" but having cysts removed doesn't bother her. Hopefully, you will have a good visit (not sure any MD visit could be called pleasant so I am sticking with good).

Good news! It was a cyst. And she was right; this wasn't the same area that they were originally concerned about. I could tell when they were doing the ultrasound & held the wand over the area of the cyst that it was a different spot. Tech asked me to show her specifically where the original area was & did a thorough check (same as the one last week). Doc said the fluid looked normal; no blood. I had a different ultrasound tech today. She also didn't find anything abnormal in the area of original concern. This is now three ultrasound techs two radiologists, an ob/gyn & surgeon who've reviewed the various ultrasounds & the mammogram & found nothing in the original area except very thick tissue. Wow, what a relief! She does want me to have my yearly mammogram this summer & then she will review that & probably follow up with another ultrasound afterward to to keep an eye on things. She asked me to call if I felt any change in the orginal area or had any other problems.

Ahhhhhhh, isn't that a great feeling?? It sounds like you're being thoroughly checked and that is also a relief. I've been through similar several times, and the worry caused me awful stomach problems. Go celebrate!!
