Well, I'm glad you kept track of where you left off so we could all be caught up. Love the way the two new beds turned out. Nice saved space by the way you built them. I have a couple of hydrangeas, but not for shade. The oak leaf hydrangea gets tall and bush shaped, would make nice shade for quite a few hosta. Don, did you order a Dick Ward this time? You will love it. Like Stained Glass but more brassy gold in the middle, and tough as nails. I've had mine since May 2010, and it acts like it is almost mature.

I remember the days before I-Village bought the gardening website. We had a guy called "Spike" who would send us to Disneyland link if he didn't like the tone of our messages. One fellow posted too many pics "hosta of the day" that inspired our friend Papou to take notes on his new beds, and that fellow Hank Zumach was banned. That was back about 2001, I think. Where would one go to suggest pinned threads? I cannot find a moderator link for Tamara. I never got an answer when I repeatedly reported a spammer on the bathroom forum that took up more than whole page of posts for a few days within the last week or so? I've been here a long time. Too long, I guess. I have seen the FAQ first set up, then updated, but now much of that info is out of date. It seems to me that between the Hosta Library and the American Hosta Society websites, all those bases are covered. -Babka

I'm here! Just returned last night from 2 weeks in PA.My sister had a hip replacement and I went home for awhile.Going back on Aug 21st to stay with my mom for 3 weeks,she's getting a knee replacement.Busy,busy two weeks,had no computer time! I had my mobile home torn down while in PA.It leaked and the walls rotted....so now I have no home to go back to.If we ever go back,I'll have to live with my mom for awhile til we get a place.Oh well....life goes on. Thanks for asking about me! I probably won't be on much from Aug 21st until I get home again. I really missed my dogs...and what a home coming.They missed me too,I was MAULED for about an hour! LOL! I loved it!

Report of prostate biopsy due in a couple of days. Daughter called on Easter morning - the best Easter present. When I suggested that if I got bad news at the biopsy report ... that I'd have a great deal of work dealing with the messy house ... ... and she laughed: said that most folks, informed of limited life expectancy, would be talking of travel ... visiting family, etc., etc. ... ... and with Dad ... it was dealing with messy house, not leaving it for survivors to cope with! Which reminds me ... I've thought for some time that one of the things that I must add to the "Last wishes" folder ... ... is to write down Gardenweb's address, so son can inform folk here of Dad's mouth being closed ... finally! Fingers no longer keyboarding. ole joyfuelled ... who figures that life should be taken seriously at times ... and not too, at times ... P.S .... but one thing's for sure: no one's gonna survive it ... ... what's that you say: that they're figuring ways for folks to live pretty well forever? No kidding! That'll mean - no more kids ... no more grandkids! (of which I have none: end of the line for my branch of the family) And the world, with 7 billion or so, going on 10 ... will become so heavy ... that it'll fall out of orbit, for sure! o j
