Just an opinion...I'd paint the vertical sides of the tray with the Wheat Grass and the horizontal (ceiling) parts of the tray with white.

There will be some changes. The top painted area stays. It looks pink in photos for some reason but it is actually salmon. The lower painted area (currently looks raspberry) will be painted a deep blue green. I will be adding trim and a new textured anaglypta border to separate the two painted areas. The trim can be painted any color; I will see how everything else looks before I decide on that. I was thinking a vanilla color but IÂm open. Adjacent rooms have a peachy white on the trim which goes well. Also in the room, which do not show, are 2 gold framed mirrors: a dusky antique gold. The buffet lamps are a silvery gold. Once everything else is done I can always add touches of whatever color is necessary to the mirror or lamps to tie them in better. Yet I didnÂt want an all gold chandelier. I had reservations about the shades too. I went through a LOT of choices, and many were more amber than these. IÂm thinking that this is something that does not photograph accurately when they are shooting catalog pictures. They need to show it lit, so have to put a low wattage bulbs in. A proper wattage bulb will show whiter. I noticed this and asked about it when I was still shopping locally. Most shades looked yellowish to me, but in the stores they were all using low wattage bulbs. I do like the style of the shades in #1. I noticed that the shape looks exactly like the shade in the second chandelier, which is from a different website. Yet the second one looks whiter. So the shades in the first one might look whiter in reality than they do in the photo. I never thought about rotating the table! I just placed it oriented to the long axis of the room. Yet with the furniture in there, the open floor space may not be rectangular. Something to try. You are right, that rug does not belong there normally! It goes in front of the outside door. But in winter we donÂt want salt/dirt on the good rug, so move a cheap expendable one into its place. Down the road we may get an oriental for under the tableÂor maybe not. The room is busy as it is.

It's a lovely room but I would choose a larger rug which will make the room look even more elegant and rich. A rug with a border, such as the two directly above, gives a more finished look. Also, a rug with a bit more color variation, perhaps gray or cream with a soft terracotta, would lend more life to your dining room.

Everyone's remodel takes longer than they think! I'll be 1 1/2 years out on a kitchen remodel we thought would take 6 months, so I'm sure you're doing great. Thanks for the big photo of the fixture, and it does look perfect for your space with a nice blend of those colors in the drapery hardware as well as your somerset pendants and the mirrors. As for the mirrors, really anything can be made to work and blend into a space as long as colors, textures or patterns are repeated elsewhere in the room. If you like the mirrors, by all means keep them as they are despite all the opinions people are giving you. Other people aren't living with the space -- you are. It sounds like your pendant hanging length isn't going to interfere with head or visual space, but I'm not an expert on that so double-check the measurements. If your counters are a standard 36" high and the pendants reach 36" above that, then I think you'll be fine. Some people are putting in elongated fixtures over long dining tables, similar to the ones you posted in previous photos, but I have a dining table that is long with a small chandelier above it and have never felt that the fixture was too small. If you like the colors and shape of the round one you just posted, I think it would work for your long table, especially because it has so many lights in it. You might want to think about installing it with a dimmer so that it is not actually too bright for some occasions. I'm happy to throw in my suggestions as so many people have helped me a ton with our remodel here in the Houzz forums, primarily through the archive of searchable posts. I'm like you trying to make decisions on my own, so it's required a lot of time researching everything.
