copy/paste--need help please

I am feeling very un-technical right now. How to you copy/paste a link when answering a message to a poster? I am "copying" from the http address at the top of the site and then I "paste" to the message.(all right clicks-at least I know that much) I am successful at copying the address, but it doesn't highlight so anyone reading my response can't click on the site. Does this make sense?

Yes.........you can't put a http(url) link within the message area but you can put it in the Optional Link URL box.

To place it in the message area use this code: a href="http://ERASE THIS AND PUT PAGE URL HERE">Click hereIn order for me to show the code I had to eliminate two symbols.... which you will need to put back in when you use the code. In front of the first 'a' type .

Make sure http isn't in the link twice, which happens when you copy/paste the complete url. After pasting your link, click Preview and you will see 'Click Here' underlined as your link. Or, you can erase Click Here and type in anything you want.

If you copy the URL (address) -- click on the message box and you can hit CTRL-V to paste it into the thread.

Dear All, I have made a calculator which ncludes the marauder (thenk you!) section. I have made it so all variables can be changed so you can create scenarios. It is essentiall y for commercial vermicomposting but the home composter can still work out the numbers by entering the purchase quantity on a date and then at one point sorting the worms into a total group and weighing them. 1 gram (sorry I don't use ounces) is good for the average red wiggler but you will have to take an average if you use night crawlers as they are bigger, etc. You can then determine how many you have as a total mixed. This will give you an idea for modifying the variables and this will give you a very close figure. If you purchase more worms later i have included a column for that entry. If you want to sell vermicompost then add in your selling price and the percentage return you expect i.ie. 1 kg waste = 50% VC. You will then see if you can make a profit or loss. I have also included start up costs and running costs which will affect the profit margin. Start up costs are spread over 10 months. It does work.

I have word 2010 there are 2 or 3 ways to paste. The first one just pastes, the third pastes without the formatting so you can edit it and not sure what the second is. Check and see if your word has that feature. This post was edited by EmmaR on Sun, Jun 23, 13 at 13:10

The pictures won't budge to either upload or download them. I wonder if you might be able to just drag and drop them into 'Your Pics' on your computer. It looks like there are some folks from the Admin Group (ArcSoft_Jason) who have some recent replies answering questions. That's such a wonderful undertaking, writing your husband's biography. Hopefully there is some way of rescuing the pics from their captivity on your computer. Know any young geeks? Some kids/teens seem to be able to do so much on computer, without any real training. Tomorrow is another day and maybe things will work out. Yes, maybe tomorrow it will all work out. Hope so. Sue You don't sound grouchy...but I'm sure you are quite disappointed and aggravated about the many old pics you can't access. Good luck.

vulches, you have missed at least the point of my comments. I would not consider your house to be in "move in condition". To redo the flooring & strip all of the wallpaper with furniture in the house would be a major PITA. Unless I could afford to hire the work done it would take a long time until the house was ready to be lived in. You have also noted that you are "a 1998 home in the middle of early-80's homes that sell for $160-200k." That is going to make it very difficult to market your property at the price point you're asking. It's always better to be the smallest/least expensive home in the neighborhood...not the largest/most expensive. Since neighborhood prices tend to "equalize"...the smaller homes move upwards towards their peers & the larger move downward also towards their peers. You are aware of the difficulties in the residential real estate markets these days? Good Luck. /t

Maybe this sentence makes more sense than my original: A http(url) link won't appear underlined within the message area without using a html code.

Ok........last post! :) If you want your link to show up as as an underlined http:, use the code I gave you earlier but paste your link in both the 'Erase this' and 'Click here' areas. Here's an example: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/decor/msg0317561619752.html?3

I've posted a diagram, see the two boxes at the bottom titled Optional Link URL and Name of the link? A lot of posters don't realize this but that's where you post your link and the link title. The catch is, you have to preview your post before the boxes become available.

Unlike other forums and message boards, the software this one uses is ancient! That is why it doesn't automatically convert web addresses to clickable links like most modern sites. So you either have to use the box at the bottom of the page (which isn't there when you originate a thread, until you preview it) or learn a little basic HTML.
