Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations
Comments (9)There's been a few threads started about vacuum cleaners. I bought the Shark navigator lift away pro about 2years ago I guess and still think that it's the best vacuum available. Shark has come out with a few new models which are probably about the same. My cleaning lady has used about every kind of vacuum cleaner made and she tells me every time she comes how much she loves my vacuum. She is saving money to buy one just like it for herself. You can find it at bed bath and beyond and use their 20% coupon, Walmart also has a good price on them but the ones at Walmart have slightly different contents in the box. I got mine at Walmart. It comes with a separate attachment for smooth floors too. We are extremely happy with it and would definitely buy it again and I have highly recommended it to several people. Many of them here and many bought it too....See MoreWe bought appliances today....
Comments (13)Thanks, everybody! I'm kind of excited, but this morning at 3 AM I couldn't sleep so I got up and went upstairs and while I was trying to figure out about 6 different projects, I had a mini-little panic attack about the fridge. I just hate that we have to cut out part of the cabinet, and I wonder if it's too big for our small space, and everything seems worse in the dark. You know? Now it's light out and I feel a little better, but I'm not used to spending big chunks of money like that and especially on something that we will have to live with for a long time. And even if this fridge goes eventually, the cabinet is still cut. Lydia, your car? Aw, man. I hope you get it fixed up soon so it's like new again. *thumps DH on the head* Oh, wait, you already DID that! Silly me. And we would have measured if we had had a clue that a new fridge was imminent. The only thing that is keeping Woody from complaining too much about this is- he swore up and down it would fit. I thought not. And, he really liked this fridge more than any other. I could have picked a different one without too much trouble. Although- the drawers- most of the fridges had drawers that didn't have roller slides on them, I hate those drawers that you have tug and shift to get them to slide out, it always feels like you're breaking that brittle plastic. I know this fridge rolls really well, it kept scooting around in the store when I pulled the freezer open, so I don't know if that means it has adjustable feet or not. I think we'll call our salesman BEFORE we cut! Good point. Janie- Roll out shelves? Um, I don't know! OK, I looked at the spec sheet online- 1 slide in shelf. I don't know if it rolls out or not. I have one in this fridge, and honestly, I rarely use that feature. As for paying, we'll pay it off at the end of this year, not waiting the full year. We really don't like to owe anyone money, but since it's interest free, it's hard to pass up. We'll let our money make a dab for about 6 more months. Then lose the debt! We did that on our countertops too, got the extra 10% off and the interest-free plan by using their card, which we've never used since. That was Home Depot. Enjoy your book, Jodi! It'll make you want to go back, I guarantee it! Moni, furniture is way more fun than rope! The beauty of this spontaneous purchase is that Woody didn't have time to get worried about it or freak out. If we plan to go spend money, it makes him grumpy. This worked out good, but he's kind of grumpy today. I think he's in shock, too. lol...See MoreI just ordered a Shark Rocket
Comments (9)I only have 2, a new Shark navigator and an old Hoover...I love, love the new navigator and would highly recommend any Shark product...We have 2 inside cats and I swear, every time I use that Shark, it picks up enough fur to build another cat...And I thought I was a fairly good house keeper, yikes...........See MoreBought Bhuts at Lowes Today!!! But.......
Comments (6)it is VERY hot here already, 70's at night, in the sun its over 100 already, but 'THEY' say its in the low 80's,weathermen. I cant peel of the pots, the roots are grown through them, and i have been watching videos of people growing Bhuts in pots on YouTube, and they grow them in peat heavy soils. Or just about anything except clay soil. Anything that drains fast, but kept watered all the time. I never understood this, because they come from India...a VERY dry place, and with poor soil. Well i have the poor soil...it is all sand here, nothing in it but sand! IF i pot them up, I can make any mix, or put them in the ground and its all sand, and can amend it. They are outside today, in morning sun to dry them out and see if they burn in the morning sun, already, wont know that till Thurs. By then if the leaves are burned, it will show. Dont know how long they were at Lowes. But 90% of the lot were sold by the time i got there. So...now i have to figure out if they can handle ALL day sun,or only morning sun, or what. Everyone has a different opinion. It is ungodly hot in the sun here...the summer is ghastly hot!!! It is getting there already. Most say to give them only morning sun. But I go back to ,they came from India, a HOT, DRY, poor soil place, so it seems the more you pamper them, the more they grow, but dont bloom or make peppers. And except for that 1 year that I got a few peppers, like 5....and I dont recall how i got them, but they were on 5 foot tall bushes, tons of blooms, but only 5 peppers. So...I have 3 of them, so I can put them in pots and put them i n3 different places,in different sun levels, but they HATE to be transplanted, so if i put them in huge pots now, they are going to be in a lot of WET soil, for a long time. Not to mention the Fert. Most say go light on it, but trim them back a lot ,to make them bushy, instead of tall, so that wind doesn't snap them in half. And it is windy here in the summer storms! It has been windy here for the last 3 days...so...the nest step.pots, or the ground, and where?...See Moreruthieg__tx
