Shark navigator pro... I bought one today

I was so tired of wrangling my heavy wind tunnel, when I had chemo treatments 11 years ago, my friend paid for a cleaning lady, and the cleaning lady broke all of the places that held the extra tubes and attachments. The cord had been run over a few times and the rubber outer shell was chewed up.

I vacuumed last night and then this afternoon I came home, tried the vac out and it DID pick up a lot more dog hair and dirt. I was surprised! lol it seems smaller, I love how it maneuvers. It's not as wide, but boy does it go everywhere! And it's not NEAR as heavy.

I signed DH up on BB and Beyond's email list so I could get

a 20 percent coupon! yea! (I was already signed up)

FYI...even thought I "think" everyone knows this...BB & B accepts their coupons even after they expire! The only exception is their 20% now / 10% after the specified date, are just that. Their "value" is reduced to 10% after a few weeks or so.

I'm sure you will enjoy it. Well, as much as one can enjoy a vacuum. LOL. A lot of power for a pretty inexpensive machine.

I agree that there ARE people out there who live in houses much longer than the average. In NoNJ both of my neighbors had been in their houses for 10+ years (one for 12 years, the other for 15 years). The couple who'd been there for 12 years plan on staying for at least another six and will think about moving after their son finishes college. The couple who has been there for 15 years will be there another two years and then once the husband retires they will move to Nashville to be near their son who recently got married and settled down in TN. So you are looking at 18 years for one family and 17 years for the other. I'd say that's major longevity! My parents bought their latest house in 1991 and are still there with a plan to be there at least another 3-5 years. Once my dad retires they will move south with an eye on buying acreage to build a house and business on. So that'll be another couple who stayed in a house twenty years. My grandfather stayed in his house for FORTY YEARS and only sold when my grandmother died and he couldn't keep up the house by himself. If she hadn't died I guarantee they would have stayed in that house. In my own instance, my DH and I are planning on living in this current house until our children go to college (they are 3yo and 4yo now). We're already planning some minor renovations (add a bathroom to create guest suite being the major one) knowing that we're going to be here a LONG TIME (read: at least 15 years).

I only have 2, a new Shark navigator and an old Hoover...I love, love the new navigator and would highly recommend any Shark product...We have 2 inside cats and I swear, every time I use that Shark, it picks up enough fur to build another cat...And I thought I was a fairly good house keeper, yikes........

Socks, I don't have wall-to-wall carpeting, so you might be better off taking a look at the Amazon reviews. I don't think I'd choose this one as your only vacuum. I think it'll be great for Raven's RV, and I'm looking forward to using it on my second floor. But the dust cup is on the small side, as JoAnn mentioned, and if I used it for my whole house I'd be emptying it all the time. If I were you I'd get a Shark Navigator Pro, which is what I use downstairs. I think you'd be happy with the job it does on your carpeting.

it is VERY hot here already, 70's at night, in the sun its over 100 already, but 'THEY' say its in the low 80's,weathermen. I cant peel of the pots, the roots are grown through them, and i have been watching videos of people growing Bhuts in pots on YouTube, and they grow them in peat heavy soils. Or just about anything except clay soil. Anything that drains fast, but kept watered all the time. I never understood this, because they come from India...a VERY dry place, and with poor soil. Well i have the poor soil...it is all sand here, nothing in it but sand! IF i pot them up, I can make any mix, or put them in the ground and its all sand, and can amend it. They are outside today, in morning sun to dry them out and see if they burn in the morning sun,already, wont know that till Thurs. By then if the leaves are burned, it will show. Dont know how long they were at Lowes. But 90% of the lot were sold by the time i got there. So...now i have to figure out if they can handle ALL day sun,or only morning sun, or what. Everyone has a different opinion. It is ungodly hot in the sun here...the summer is ghastly hot!!! It is getting there already. Most say to give them only morning sun. But I go back to ,they came from India, a HOT, DRY, poor soil place, so it seems the more you pamper them,the more they grow, but dont bloom or make peppers. And except for that 1 year that I got a few peppers, like 5....and I dont recall how i got them, but they were on 5 foot tall bushes, tons of blooms, but only 5 peppers. So...I have 3 of them, so I can put them in pots and put them i n3 different places,in different sun levels, but they HATE to be transplanted, so if i put them in huge pots now, they are going to be in a lot of WET soil, for a long time. Not to mention the Fert. Most say go light on it, but trim them back a lot ,to make them bushy,instead of tall, so that wind doesn't snap them in half. And it is windy here in the summer storms! It has been windy here for the last 3 days...so...the nest step.pots, or the ground, and where?

What model did you buy..........seems there is more than one pro? I need/want a new vac...I have a Sears that is beyond good but sooooooooo heavy.

You'll be pleased with your purchase. I had a Hoover bagless I hated, mostly because it didn't suck. It was recommended to me by my worst enemy, the dreaded MIL. Replaced with Shark Navigator Liftaway , the purple one. I LOVE IT!!!

Oh good for you!! I know it is so easy to move it around, in the commercial she is dancing around the living room swerving around things, I am not dancing but it does get around!

There is only one PRO version of this particular one, It is the Shark Navigator Lift away PRO, it is a white vacuum the regular model that is not PRO is purple. Shark has many vacuums however so being sure it is this particular one is important. This is it on amazon.(there is not much difference in the purple and white in price or in function but the white pro does have a larger debris container, some places have them both for the same price)

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional Vacuum - Model NV356

you may see a different number than the NV356 if you are buying at walmart or some other store that has their own specific codes. Mine is from walmart so the number is slightly different. Not sure if BBB has a different number. QVC might since theirs does come with added accessories.

The suction on this vacuum is amazing. I have a large rug in my living room, that thing will suck down onto that rug and you can not move it, my cleaing lady said oh no what now, well there is a collar that you can turn that allows some air into the suction so that it "lightens up" and then you can move it. So if you find you are stuck LOL that is how to use it on rugs and stuff like that.

I have noticed that when I use that sprinkle stuff on my carpets it tends to really get in the foam filter that is where the lift off part connects, I try to remember to clean my filters regularly as they suggest.

I am so glad those of you with it are happy. I know I am.

Yep.. Mine is the bigger white one, Ruthie. I just checked the box and I don't see a number on it. Thank you Houstonmom. No, I didn't know that about their coupons. I've been to the store only 3 times! lol Now I'm in the loop! lol

I don't know about the Shark Navigator but I just bought the new Shark Rotator and I love it! I got it for at a good price at BBB, using the 20% off coupon. It was expired but they still accepted it. I was also told by an employee that they also discount the brands that are listed as "excluded" and they only list them because the companies insist on it. I hope all the good reviews I read about the Navigator also apply to the Rotator!

msgenie - BBB has been accepting their expired coupons for years. Yesterday I used one from 2014! So hold on to all of them - even when they've expired.

That's great, kacram. It's wonderful to have good tools to do needed work. I don't need a vacuum cleaner, but if/when I do, I'll definitely take a look at the Shark. They sure are popular.

I love my shark vacuum... Every once in a while after you empty the canister take the time to wash it out with soap and water and also wash out the foam filters, it's amazing the dust and dirt particles they capture. I don't care how clean of a person you are after a while vacuum cleaners are known for not smelling good but I don't find the Shark to be that way at all.

I am still loving mine! Yes I do occasionally wash the filter and let it dry thoroughly before using again and I clean the dust container, after I clean it I spray a little lysol on a paper towel and wipe inside the canister. I have never had a problem with any smells or oder in mine either.
