Oh, I forgot! Patti43, you asked what our counters are- they are Silestone from Home Depot, the color is Amarillo Palmira. And we like them a lot. In the summer, though, when the AC is on, if you lean against them, it will take your breath away, they feel so cold! lol

Jodi, you are officially off the hook for doing a Paint Shop job on a photograph, but thanks again for offering! Woody nixed all black, said they would be too dark for his taste. So SS, or a reasonable facsimile of, will do.

LOL, Flamey, sounds like our trip to Lowes to buy rope. LOL

While there (at the time we had just moved to Tahlequah) we decided to drive on to Tulsa, and look for dining room furniture.

Went home with the van full. China cabinet, table and six chairs. Also bought two book shelves, and a sofa and a love seat.

Most expensive rope we ever bought.

You will LOVE the big refrigerator!!!! I had one when I first moved out on my own- my mom was soooooo jealous. Had to take out a cabinet to make it fit in our second house. Not the overhead one but one that was between the refrig. and the washer/dryer. Does yours have the glass slide-out shelves. They are the coolest thing!

I am jealous of your smooth-top stove. Every time I buy one, we move withing 6 months! I have gas right now and ever time I use it, I remind Eric how much I HATE it. Cannot wait until our next house where we will hopefully stay a while and I will buy myself a new stove as a housewarming gift to myself!

We did the same thing with Lowes when we bought our washer and dryer here in WV. I set up the payment as an auto pay with my bank and made sure I paid it off two months early. Just divide the total bill by 10 and you will pay it down and not have to worry about cutting it close and ending up with the interest. Were you able to get free delivery too?

Guess I should have reminded you to measure the space first... DH and I ordered our fridge online at Sears.com and I think there were only 3 side by sides that would even fit in our space. You could try screwing the little adjusters on the bottom as far up as they can go and see if that makes a difference in having to cut your cabinets. I think they are about an inch high.

You get it all put in and shined up, then we'll all come over and celebrate by making some Rice Krispie Treats (or something equally messy lol).

Flamey, I meant to tell you, now that I don't have to do the Photoshop work for you, I will have time to finish the Buenos Aires Broken Heart Club book you recommended. :-) I'm just a few pages into it but already love her writing style.

Thanks for telling me about your counters. I've been looking into different materials and Silestone is what I'd pretty much decided on, but I didn't know anyone who actually had them to ask about them. From what I've read they are more stain resistant, scratch resistant and just about everything else better than granite or marble and don't take special care. Is that pretty much true? I like they have like 65 colors to choose from!!! I have an all white kitchen right now and it's pretty when it's all sparkly clean--which would be when??? Yours sure are pretty!

I'm kind of excited, but this morning at 3 AM I couldn't sleep so I got up and went upstairs and while I was trying to figure out about 6 different projects, I had a mini-little panic attack about the fridge. I just hate that we have to cut out part of the cabinet, and I wonder if it's too big for our small space, and everything seems worse in the dark. You know? Now it's light out and I feel a little better, but I'm not used to spending big chunks of money like that and especially on something that we will have to live with for a long time. And even if this fridge goes eventually, the cabinet is still cut.

Lydia, your car? Aw, man. I hope you get it fixed up soon so it's like new again. *thumps DH on the head* Oh, wait, you already DID that! Silly me. And we would have measured if we had had a clue that a new fridge was imminent. The only thing that is keeping Woody from complaining too much about this is- he swore up and down it would fit. I thought not. And, he really liked this fridge more than any other. I could have picked a different one without too much trouble. Although- the drawers- most of the fridges had drawers that didn't have roller slides on them, I hate those drawers that you have tug and shift to get them to slide out, it always feels like you're breaking that brittle plastic.

I know this fridge rolls really well, it kept scooting around in the store when I pulled the freezer open, so I don't know if that means it has adjustable feet or not. I think we'll call our salesman BEFORE we cut! Good point.

Janie- Roll out shelves? Um, I don't know! OK, I looked at the spec sheet online- 1 slide in shelf. I don't know if it rolls out or not. I have one in this fridge, and honestly, I rarely use that feature. As for paying, we'll pay it off at the end of this year, not waiting the full year. We really don't like to owe anyone money, but since it's interest free, it's hard to pass up. We'll let our money make a dab for about 6 more months. Then lose the debt! We did that on our countertops too, got the extra 10% off and the interest-free plan by using their card, which we've never used since. That was Home Depot.

Moni, furniture is way more fun than rope! The beauty of this spontaneous purchase is that Woody didn't have time to get worried about it or freak out. If we plan to go spend money, it makes him grumpy. This worked out good, but he's kind of grumpy today. I think he's in shock, too. lol

Oops- forgot again! $69 delivery fee (we live about 30 miles away from the store) with a $59 rebate. So a mere $10, I like that!

Those are beautiful. I can't wait to see them in person. I think $10 delivery is terrific. Even $69 is good. And just how in the heck are they getting that big boy in the house? I'm guessing they'll go up the back ramp and in through the back door? Better get out that measuring tape. Wonder if that delivery charge would be the same if they just brought it to MY house! LOLOL

I can see why the panic set in. That was pretty much a spur of the moment buy.....vewy unusual...*said in my best Elmer Fudd voice* But don't worry, you're gonna love it. At first it will seem huge but it won't take long and it'll look right at home!

A couple years ago we put in a new kitchen and I ordered everything from Lowes. Everything we needed except the cabinets. Those we already had. Well, it was a nightmare. They were so many delays.. The hole for the sink was cut in the wrong place.. They tried to say it was our error.. After taking in all of our paperwork they knew it was there mistake. It took almost 4 weeks for the flooring. It was sitting in a warehouse 50 miles from us for almost 2 weeks.. GRRRRRRRRR..... We have an older home and we ordered the backsplash not attached. Well, attached, it was.. One piece we could use but the other one had to be reordered.. The workers were really nice but the management was a nightmare to deal with.. We would never buy from them again..

Darn. BUT, the right width is MUCH more important than the height. Worse case scenario you can raise the ceiling. KIDDING. Worse case scenario you can live without that itty bitty cabinet over the fridge that you can't get to anyway.
We can't have a FD fridge until we change cabs and counter (Width issue.)
You will love the VCM. It looks like SS without the blotches and fingerprints.
We just could never do appliance shopping without weeks if not months of measuring, check consumer reports, reading reviews, second guessing, doing more research measuring again - you get the idea. (This is why even I [a big planner] sometimes just says, "sure,honey whatever you want!)
I'm sure you will enjoy your new appliances and have extra freezer space would make me do the happy dance!

Tell Woody not to cut the cabinets. Just have him take them out. Then put a pretty shelf up there to display some of your craft work!
