That French toast looks wonderful. Even looks like it was made with Challah....yum.

I just made Eggs Benedict for us, even used Nueske's Canadian Bacon... soo good.

I had my favorite....creamed chipped beef on toast, coffee, and some fresh strawberries.

Does last week count? I POOFed an overnight French Toast casserole with some less-than-desireable leftover challah my inlaws brought for Shabbat. I'm back to baking my own...

Leftover sliced challah  about 1 lb?
1 stick butter
3 eggs
½ cup OJ
¾ cup half/half
1 cup milk
1.5 tsp cinnamon
¾ tsp ground cardamom
1 tsp vanilla
½ cup brown sugar

Melt butter and spread over bottom of 9x13 pyrex pan

Slice challah and squeeze into pan
In a bowl, mix remainder ingredients, and pour over bread
Cover and refrigerate overnight
Bake next day 350° until puffy and done?

i only recently heard someone mention neuske's bacon, nancy. don't think it's available out here in the boonies--what's the scoop on it?

can't do breakfast in the morning but at this point in the day it sounds terrific! nice pic, jessica--i can imagine that stuff was great! we settled for a cup of coffee with an orange juice chaser. works for us...

I had lasagna for breakfast with green tea.

Lunch was Maple Pecan Fudge..

But I made hubby his usual Sunday breakfast.
Scrambled Cheese eggs with Northwoods Fire seasoning, grits with lots of butter s&p, JD sausage patties and 2 english muffins. That plus a 20oz coffee hold him til about 4. LOL

My neighbor called early and we headed off to Wegmans to get our grocery shopping done. By 9AM it was mobbed, and the weather is awful - foggy, rain and wind.

After we shopped we got breakfast sandwiches - egg, cheese and sausage and a cup of very good coffee at the Wegmans coffee shop and went upstairs and sat in comfy chairs and watched all the shoppers. Very nice.

Made with fresh challah, right out of the bakery oven this morning. Still warm when he brought it home.

Copied and pasted your recipe, Jessy! Looks great! I still have cardamom left from the dirt balls. Maybe I should pass this recipe on to our mutual friend, I know she has cardamom :)

We had similar breakfast yesterday to Momj47 and Woodie, eggs, sausage and toast, and coffee. At the diner. I love diner breakfasts, and it was nice, just Larry and I! and about ten other neighbors we ran into, LOL!

San, can't do early breakfasts here, too, we have breakfasts really late on the weekend! No morning people here.

yes, yes was a post on the Nueske's I remember. Haven't seen it here either. Nancy, Eggs Benedict sounds so good! Haven't made that in ages!
