Jean, that sounds delicious!! What have I eaten? Nothing yet, but thanks for reminding me I need to take my pill before I can eat. My DH has a bowl of cereal before he headed out for a day of fun with the guys.

None for me, today, though I went with friend to The Egg and I, yesterday, and had delicious Eggs Benedict and hash browns.

mmmmmmm - it all looks good to me! I've made this before and it's very good! (although I admit that blueberries and lemon combo sounds even better) Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake From The Stonewall Kitchen Cookbook (Canada, UK), by Jonathan King & Jim Stott. You can always tell when we're baking this Bundt cake in our stores the air fills with the perfume of blueberries and customers linger, waiting for a taste. Our Wild Maine Blueberry jam creates a ribbon of blueberry filling in the middle of the cake. Although we serve it for dessert, it is also great for breakfast or brunch or a midafternoon snack. Sometimes we add a splash of rum to the melted jam that is drizzled over the top of the cake. Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus additional for the pan 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature, plus additional for the pan 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar 2 large eggs, at room temperature 1 cup sour cream 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon Wild Maine Blueberry Jam or blueberry preserves 2 tablespoons gold rum, optional 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside. Using an electric mixer on high, beat the butter in a large mixing bowl until soft and creamy. Add the sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, making sure the first egg is well incorporated before adding the second. Add the sour cream and vanilla and beat until the mixture is smooth. Turn the mixer to low, add the flour mixture, and beat just until incorporated. Transfer 1/2 cup of the batter to a small mixing bowl and set aside. Pour the remaining batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Make a 1-inch trough in the center of the batter all the way around the pan. Add 3/4 cup of the blueberry jam into the reserved batter and beat with the electric mixer until thoroughly combined. Spoon the blueberry batter evenly into the trough. Bake for 1 hour, or until the cake begins to pull away from the edges of the pan and a skewer inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert the cake onto a wire rack. Cool the cake completely on the rack. Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon blueberry jam in a small pan over low heat. (Alternatively, melt the jam in a small bowl in the microwave on medium for 15 seconds.) Stir the rum (if using) into the melted jam. Sift the confectioners, sugar over the cake and drizzle with the melted jam. Serve immediately, or store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. The cake can also be frozen for up to 1 month. Defrost at room temperature before serving. Yield: Makes one 10-inch Bundt cake

I tend to think a bad SM is also a bad mom. If you do the right thing because you are a good person, you (at least try to) do the right thing ALL the time. That's just my philosophy. The father should not be allowing her to make that decision to keep him from seeing his child. If he goes along with it, he's more to blame than she is though, because it's his child and he needs to stand up for his relationship with his child.

Whew! I’ve finally recuperated from the onslaught. We had a blast! The pig came out perfect, the weather was great and everything went smoothly. Here are a few pictures I took: Dawn Saturday morning. Pig went in the smoker at 4 PM Friday. We all stayed up until midnight then DH & I went to bed and slept until 4 AM. We got up and relieved the midnight to 4 AM smoker crew and started our day. Almost Done Done Inhaling & Decorated RedNeck Style. Go Patriots! Last year it was Hawaiian Style complete with lei. My cousin carving the Pig. Saturday midnight...end of a long day

After watching the way people cook in their own kitchens I'm often more concerned about eating there than in a reputable establishment. People slobbering on the spoon to taste and snack as they're cooking, having their kids "help" in the kitchen. Setting the diapered kids on the food prep counters, purses, etc. Talking on the phone and then handling food. (What's dirtier than a phone?) Thinking about it is going to make you upset. Either get paranoid or don't let possibilities bother you. Each kitchen, whether a restaurant or home, has different standards of "cleanliness". After watching Marvin Zindler's "Rat and roach report" never stopped Houston residents from eating out, though the local health officials did occasionally. I sometimes chuckle watching the TV cooking shows, Hell's Kitchen for one, and watching them using those disgusting towels all night long wiping the plates, sticking it in their pocket, wiping the stoves, etc. Not too sure I agree with a lot of food handling procedures on those shows.

Sunday morning? By the time on the post, you barely made it before noon. My coffee, bacon, egg, toast & pineapple was 6 hours earlier. Then a hot bowl of macaroni with cooked tomatoes and Parmesan Cheese. Got hungry for a Ham sandwich. 6 Reese's cups for lunch.

rhizo, I've never been brave enough to have a smoothie. Plus, I don't have a blender. (hehe....that's my excuse. would a hand blender work?) You must have to have lots of fresh fruit and veggies on hand. Are they high in carbs with so much fruit?

I ended up skipping breakfast and going straight to lunch. A bbq cheese veggie burger and Pepsi. I had a tomavo benny yesterday, but it wasn't very good. Usually, I love them.

No, a hand blender won't work...so you're off the hook, lol. Yes, fruits and vegetables have carbs and sugars....they are high energy foods! They are also loaded with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Yep, our fridge is packed with fresh and frozen produce.

My drinks are delicious, healthful, and a huge boost to our day. :-) I think we got our first NutriBullet a couple of years ago and we are so happy that we did.

OJ (with pulp), bacon, slow-fried eggs over easy, apple muffin, coffee.

The eggs were extra good. I always buy jumbo eggs, but I hadn't cooked them in my Corning pan for a while.

Our Westie always waits to lick plates before he eats his own breakfast. (Yes, they go in the dishwasher after he pre-cleans!)

I have the same breakfast every morning...high fiber cereal with almond milk. I add fresh blueberries if I have them on hand. If I want a waffles or egg kind of meal, I have it for lunch or dinner.

For years, every Sunday I prepared a big breakfast for my family. It varied little from: sausage or bacon or both; homemade biscuits; fried or scrambled eggs; hash browns; gravy; and orange juice, tomato juice, or apple juice. Occasionally, we would have pancakes instead of the eggs, hash browns, and gravy, but always with homemade apple syrup, as well as maple syrup (not home made).

Those were the days we could afford calories every week.
