Is it a joke or does it happen for real?

Wait staff spitting on people's food. You see it in TV and movies, so it must happen somewhere.

Two things inspire this posting: 1) I had breakfast at a fave joint and it happened that my cheese omelette was refrigerator cold in the middle. It never occurred to me NOT to return and request another. I was polite and server apologetic. I've never made a scene over food but I have never hesitated to return if wrong temperature or not what I ordered.

2) in today's Wendy Williams show she said she'd take food in a doggie bag and order a 2nd entree or just eat it, even if not what she ordered. She Never requests do-over for fear of spit treatment on her vittles. I imagine she gets red carpet treatment in NY so if WW is so concerned about what happens in the kitchen re: do-overs, should I? Should you?

I enjoy my Sunday breakfasts outside of home. Please tell me it ain't so.

have you ever known of a staffer who does something gross to food in response to customer request (rude or polite)?
